Have you thought about using locking stitch markers to hold the loops in place when you remove them from the pegs?

I'm not familiar with loom knitting, but one of my crocheting friends always uses a stitch marker to hold the active stitch when she has to put her project down.

For some reason, I thought loom knitting would be ridiculously easy. BOY, WAS I WRONG! LOL!
