Recently I ordered two kits from www.knifekits.com, each one of the bali-songs they have. The bali-songs are called the Typhoon and Tsunami and they come disassembled and unsharpened. To put them together all you need is a torx driver set. It's recommended that you put loctite on the screws but you don't have to. These knives, especially the ( Read more... )

Aw, thanks Twissie.

It really was. It was so good that the next morning when I woke up and remembered I had some left in the refrigerator I was so happy, it was like Christmas morning.

I'm amused by the very nonchalant cat perched amid all the cutlery; so very like felines to put themselves where you'd least think they ought to belong!

As for the salad recipe, looks might tasty! I might be biased, though; I'm a huge fan of olives, onions and parmesan all.

Lol, it is. And of course if the knives were actually sharp I wouldn't let him do that.

My cat is with me almost always when I'm at home, he even follows me when I go on walks into the woods, almost like a dog. If I were an action figure, he'd come with me as one of my accessories.

Sometimes it gets annoying, like whenever I'm on the computer he likes to walk on my keyboard and sit in front of my monitor, but for the most part I'm glad I have him.

OMG SALAD. Now you got me hungry all over again.

I am in love with the typhoon purely by looks alone! I'm no expert in knives and the most I know is just to flip it open but that looks like a fine replacement for the bali that got confiscated. Is there a particular reason why it is shaped like that?

The Typhoon is the straighter one. It was designed by Darrel Ralph, a well known custom knife designer specializing in bali-songs. I think they gave it a big generic type blade so people can reprofile it if they want.

Looks don't always equate to a good bali-song for flipping. Take the Szabofly for instance:
