wow, if I saw that when it was posted almost 4 years ago, I don't remember - I love it! One thing that jumped out to me was how up until the last 30 seconds,the clips generally progressed through the season chronologically but slipped in moments from earlier eps, showing how the narrative was interwoven through the season.

ps: you refer to it being made immediately after the s1 premiere but you mean finale.

pps: you reblogged it from me back in the day, so I'm going to blame my forgetting it on a mix of faulty memory and the deluge of fan responses to the s1 finale.

And yes, 'finale' is precisely what I meant! GeekyKristie is a talented vidder, but making an S1 retrospective before it had even aired is more talented than anyone has any right to hope for. :-D

Ooh, great rec, thank you! I'm particularly fascinated by how the vidder manged to build so much tension and emotional arc based on the images, when the music itself barely increases in tempo and passion.

The editing is gorgeous -- I have spent ages looking at it, and it still feels fresh to me. And you're absolutely right: the music is even enough from one end to the other that the vid could have been very flat. And yet it really, really isn't.
