Whoahhhhh. So, um, long time, no update. Sorry, I suck you guys. lolz.
Let me see if I can do some quick catching up....
SUMMER.
That word alone brings me ecstatic joy. :]]
The fact that it is already half over, for me at least, is kind of a damper. But I'm not thinking about that. Because then I might get bummed. Instead I'm giving the whole live-in-the-moment thing a run for its money. And it's working out pretty well.
Let's see, me and the family took a good old-fashioned road trip to Colorado. The kind of trip that makes you realize who people really are. Who yourself really is. For instance, I'm just figuring out that I am such a selfish person. When you get down to it, all I really care about is me, me, me, myself, and I. And that bothers me. I don't like it. So....working on that. Heh. But anyway, back to the trip.
Arkansas. Kris Allen country. WHOOP. Hee hee. But rofl it was so funny like all the flashing bank signs were like "Go Kris Allen" or "Congratulations to *OUR* American Idol winner." You can tell they're so proud. It's great. :]]
Oklahoma and Kansas. UNBEARABLY FLAT.
Not even joking. It's the emptiest place I've ever been in my whole life.
But it's good for thinking.
and writing.
and music.
& after 1300 miles. we made it.
Denver, Colorado.
one word:
mountains.
Beautiful really isn't a fair description of them.
They're so much more than "just beautiful."
AND ZOMG WE GOT TO GO WHITEWATER RAFTING FOR THE FIRST TIME & IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!!!!!
Yeah, the water was so cold our feet felt like they were going to fall off. But it was oh so worth it.
We did a million different things in the city which I really can't remember right now. lol. But it was great. But omg, everything is so DIFFERENT out there. For one, all of the people are really healthy out there. And friendly. They're not like our psychotic redneck neighbors who pull out a 22 shotgun if you "trespass on their land." And they have like 578,096,342 dogs. I'm not even joking. Most dogs I've seen in my whole freaking life. Haha.
and I could almost move there for just the weather alone.
it's not like down south. [okay, that was really redundant, of course it's not like the south.]
you don't sweat so much up there. I don't even see why you would have to buy deoderant. lolz.
We stayed at our aunt's house in the middle of the city,
but in a nice neighborhood in walking distance of the park.
Which, totally beats the heck out of the one in Columbia.
She's pretty cool for being over 50. I am so jealous of her,
she has lived like all over the whole planet. England, Hawaii, Japan....
Hahh. So, it was a good trip, but I was dying to get home. I guess I really am a homebody kind of girl. I like being in Kokomo.
I miss my family and my friends and Wal-marts. [...did I mention the last Wal-mart I saw on the trip was in Conway, AK?] CAN SOMEBODY SAY WEIRD. Or, lol, in the words of Mr. Kris Allen himself, "Where do you guys buy stuff?"
Stopped at Garden of the Gods on the way back home. Pretty. Drove through New Mexico. Saw a volcano. It was cool. And (finally!) TEXASSSSSSS! Haven't been there since we moved away when I was four. It was nice. HUGE. But nice. It took foreverrrrrr to cross. And when I stepped out in Dallas, this crazy heat wave nearly knocked me over. I really got too used to that CO weather. I was gasping for air all the way through Louisiana. But, oh was it good to be back home. As soon as we crossed the Mississippi River, I actually started to get jumpy. There really is no place like home. I &hearts Kokomo. :DD
Since I've been back, not a lot has gone on. Went bowling with some friends,
so that was nice. Haven't really got to hang out with them in awhile.
Oh, and last week we had a day of camp for some Eukranian orphans. It felt so good to be back at Harvest. It is my favorite place ever, hands down. Got to hang with Jessi and JJ and met his brother. Lots of fun. SO FLIPPING TIRING THOUGH. But then I think to myself, oh, I've got ten days of this starting on the 8th. Oh lord. Haha. But no really, I love it to death. It's my favorite week of the year. I've got a lot of favorite stuff about that place. rofl.
We're cool like THISSSSS! :D :D :D :D :D
But other than that, it's been the usual stuff I do in the summer. Sleep til eleven, have a Gilmore Girls marathon, hang with my cousins, swim, read, etc. But there's something really amazing about the simple side of life. Can't quite put my finger on it, but it's there, and it's awesome.
AND [last thing here, I promise] I FINALLY READ TWILIGHT.
YES YES YES AND LOVE. It went by too quick. Craving New Moon already. Hahh. :]]
