Mod Post: FAQ's

This section of the community is under construction, please be patient.

If you have a question please post it here.

What is the general idea of this community?

To post 25 fanworks that involve the place prompts in some way or fashion. Doesn't matter if it is mentioned in passing, drawn in the background, or whatever, just as long as it is mentioned.

Where do I make a claim?

You can do that right here.

What ratings are allowed?

Any and all. If you use a system other than the standard G - NC-17 let us know what it stands for.

What pairings are allowed?

Any and all again. Het, yaoi, yuri, RPS...whatever. Just make sure you put a warning on any heavily sexual fanworks.

Are Original Characters allowed?

Yes, and no. If you have an original series you are working on, that is fine by me. If you have picked a fandom, i.e. Harry Potter, I would rather you not have an OC in the fanwork. Meaning, you can't claim an OC with a major character, but there can be OCs in the fanwork. Sorry, I should've clarified myself.

How many claims can I have at one time?

Only two (2) right now please, and they must be from different fandoms.

Can the same characters be claimed by two different people?

Yes, as long as it's a different prompt table that is fine.

Can two people claim a character/pairing together?

Yes, they can. Just let me know when you claim who the other person is that you will be working with.

Can I post a fanwork that I've already done?

No. Please post new fanworks for the prompts. I won't know if you do it anyway, so you are on the honor code.

How many prompts can I use for a fanwork?

Only one, however, you can mix the prompts (i.e. School/Lake) but you'll still have to post another fanwork for the other prompt.

How do I do an Lj-Cut?

Easy peasy.

[lj-cut text="Whatever"]

{Fiction/Fanart goes here}

[/lj-cut]

Just replace the [ with < and ] with >.

Do prompts need to be posted in any particular order?

Nope. You do them as they come to you.

Is there a deadline?

Yes. I ask that you post at least once every two (2) months. If you find that you cannot post within this time frame comment here to get an extension. Note that you may only have an extension once every six (6) months, and that extension will only be for one (1) month.

What if I get bored/writer's block with my claim?

Then head over here to drop your claim. If you want a new one make sure to go over to the claims post for a new one.

Is there a word limit to fanfics?

It needs to be at least 100 words, that's all I ask for.

Why do I have to put everything under an lj-cut?

To save our flists. It just makes things much easier, and if someone doesn't want to read something and/or see something they don't have to.

Can I do a fake-cut?

That's fine with me.

Can I cross post these?

Tis your fanwork, feel free to do with them as you will.
