Eh, it just happened to fall into the new year's thing. But anyway, I walked two miles today. I could have done more but thought that might not be a good idea, especially if I plan to walk at least a mile every day ( Read more... )

If you're willing to walk a mile every day, then nothing is wrong with you. You're setting reasonable goals and you're doing them. I'm sure life has happened, and you've found yourself distracted by other things. You already know what you can do. Just predicate your future success on the same pattern as your past success and go from there.

Yeah...I am hoping to start a physical life-style change as well. Planet Fitness is opening a new gym about 5 minutes away.

Planet Fitness doesn't have any pools or racquetball courts but they're only $10/month...

We'll see, I'd like to lose 35lbs

I would guess like most everyone else you don't stick with things. My doctor gave me vitamins to take every day, she gave them to me in december, six are gone....I've been meaning to walk every day to.... did it one day. So you're in good company. Walking a mile is a good goal, not to much at once. it takes 10-17 times to make a habit so it'll be easier after you do it that many times, theoretically.
