rhubarb pie does sound pretty good, though. as does, now that i think about it, this salad that i make with apples, rhubarb, scallion, walnuts, blue cheese and (oddly enough) sour cream! maybe i'll eat that for lunch today. i think i have all the ingredients except the rhubarb, but it's good without, too.

And yo, I hear you on the cherries. i just bought about 3lb of them for a picnic tomorrow. My family was so into cherries growing up I think it was pretty normal to spend summer days munching on them and nothing else... Although the one thing I've never gotten into is their super Slavic love of sour cherries as well, with the exception of my mom's homemade sour cheery vodka, which rules.

YES. Completely my granddad, my fake uncles, etc. I have always assumed I will grow into this like I grew into plum brandy. As yet, however, they are still beyond me...

PS yes rhubarb pie is the best - I kind of hate stuff that's too too sweet, so the tartness of rhubarb makes it a perfect pie!
