Walter felt a curiously cold sensation spreading through his chest as he considered his options. The life he had once thought his was over.
He'd been able to endure Kitty’s indifference for him; he’d thought her incapable of feeling, and it didn’t bother him. He had more than enough emotion for them both.
But now it was obvious that wasn’t the case, and he would not bear the insult of her affair in the home that he worked to provide. The self-absorbed creature was going to learn how to barter - his last name for her pride.
