I can't remember who's journal I posted a comment in reply to, about how I didn't think my baby was going to come because I hadn't cleaned out my car

That is so awesome;maybe that does mean something will happen here soon! And yeah, maybe your little one is going to be a neat freak. My family and I were just discussing how some babies are very fussy about being clean and others couldn't care less whether they're a mess or not. *lol* Maybe yours will fit into the first category... :)
Haha! It's possible. My niece absolutely HATES getting food on her hands (but will still mash anything food-like into her highchair table whenever possible), and come to think of it, so does my 'partner's' little two year old brother.. Others, I'm sure, couldn't care less!
Yeah for losing your mucous plug! I've always heard people talk about huge cleaning sprees they go on right before the baby is born. Here's hoping labor starts in the next few days : ). When you have the baby, how long will you be in the birth center before you come home?
They generally like to keep you there for around three days - provided it isn't a cesearean. (If it turns out to be a c-section, five). I guess it's so the lactactation consultant gets to spend a decent amount of time with the new parents, and yeah..they make sure we rest up enough before coming home. Having said that, though, my sister had her little girl and went home the next day! This was more a choice of her own...I don't know what I will choose...I can imagine getting bored in the hospital, but I might appreciate the break before the real work begins!
I've definitely heard about the cleaning sprees too...the only thing is I've been cleaning anything I can find that might need cleaning (lol...including the bathroom/basins with a toothbrush not long ago!!) for the past few weeks...so I don't know whether I'd be able to tell the difference between an "pre-imminent-labour-cleaning" (yes, it's a new phrase :D), or a regular cleaning session!
ooh I've also been meaning to ask...I know it's important to keep hydrated whilst breastfeeding..is there any particular drinks that you should be drinking? I mean...I'm pretty sure water would be an obvious choice, but yeah, I was wondering whether there were any other liquids favoured by breastfeeding mamas?
Water is best but any liquid is good. The most important thing is to have something available to drink when you start each feeding b/c your body will tell you "i'm thirsty- drink!" at the beginning and if you drink then you'll stay well-hydrated. But if you don't have anything around and think "i'll wait until i'm done nursing to drink" odds are you won't feel as thirsty afterward even though you still need the fluids. I kept water bottles all around the house so i could get a drink whenever i needed - especially at night, keep a bottle or two next to the bed or wherever you'll be feeding most so you can stay nice and hydrated :).
Your milk will come in between 3-5 days post-delivery - DS was born on a Tuesday morning and my milk came in on Saturday. If you have a csection it is possible it could take a bit longer than 5 days (5-7 days) - but the colostrum will keep your baby fed with all the nutrients needed until the milk arrives :).
