Author's Notes: For explanation, this was written for a sorting community, hogwartsishome, where all the Hufflepuffs seem to be obsessed with cupcakes.

How shall I prepare thee on this summer day?
Unfrosted, thou art sweet;
Frosted, thou art divine.
Food of the gods,
Like ambrosia to me.
Each bite:
Perfection!
Unusual though it may be,
Forever shall I sing thy praises.
Fantastic; most splendid! My cupcake are thee!

Fandom: Harry Potter
Characters: Helga Hufflepuff, Salazar Slytherin, Godric Gryffindor, Rowena Ravenclaw
Summary: Helga is devastated by the division among the founders, following Slytherin's departure.
Challenge/Prompt: Poetry Challenge: Hufflepuff Acrostic at hh_sugarquill
Word Count: 72
Rating: G
Author's Notes: I seem to be on a poetry kick recently, sorry. This one has a visual pattern too.

Helga had one dream: to see her friends stand strong together. Four houses,
United. Yet only three remained. She had watched, helpless, as
Failing to win Rowena's love, Salazar lost Godric's as well.
Friendship failed, and her hopes died. Yet perhaps...
Love, it was, that had first divided the friends;
Envy, too, hastened friendship's death.
Perhaps, it was Helga's turn now.
Uncompromising, she would
Fight ever on, working.
For unity, at last.
