Maybe.. just maybe, for that moment she looked into your eyes, she saw apart of your soul that gave her that glimmer of comfort she needed. Holding your hand and having you walk with her was her way to make that last as long as possible.

With hope, she may very well be doing the same thing as you. Thinking back from time to time, wondering where you are.. Still ever so thankful you were there to give her comfort from what was racking her mind.

Just out of curiosity, what made you decide not to pull away for that hour and a half? Were you going along with it because it felt nice to be needed or to be helping someone so much? Or were you afraid of what might happen if you pulled away? Or maybe both?

That was touching in a unique way.

I feel slightly heelish when I suggest that it could make a wonderful creative non-fiction short story.
