Another SPN thought

So randomly, it just occurred to me: is Adam still in hell with Lucifer and Michael?  Because after all the fuss the show made about how Hell was so horrible Sam couldn't be allowed to remember it, I'm starting to feel pretty darn bad for Adam.  Couldn't they have an episode where they save him and somehow he lives happily ever after?

I'm guessing yes. Didn't Dean ask Death to get both their souls or something, but Death made him choose?
