Summary: Chris and Zach spend their first Christmas with Zach's family in Pittsburgh.
After dinner and a long conversation around the table, Chris made his way out to the front porch. He bundled up in a few more layers than might be strictly necessary. He was still in pleasant shock over how the snow looked and it was too interesting for him not to sit and watch it fall for a bit. He curled further into the warmth of his clothes.
Zach guided his mother to the stairs gently. "I'll be to bed soon mom, go sleep you've been up since dawn." He kissed her hairline. "Just gotta make sure Chris is okay before I tuck in for the night." He smiled. "Night mom, love you." She murmured the same, wandering up the stairs with a yawn and he searched the house, finding Chris finally and grabbing his coat off the hook by the door. "What are you doing, trying to find out what frostbite feels like?" He teased gently, stepping onto the porch behind the other man.
"Looking at the snow fall, it really is beautiful," Chris smiled. "Sit with me?" He took Zach's hand and pulled him down. "It was a great day," he smiled. "Thank you for asking me," he said. "It means so much." He looked into Zach's eyes. "You mean so much to me."
Zach smiled, putting his arm around Chris as best he could with the layers between them. "Means a lot to me that you came. I'm sorry we couldn't see your family." He sighed softly. "Wish mom lived closer sometimes and then I think about no snow in winter and I realize I don't. The driving sucks but its so peaceful."
"We will, for New Year's," Chris said. "See my family, I mean. They do that up as big as Christmas in case one of us can't make it for the holiday. So you'll get to do that, too. Your mom knows, doesn't she? About us?"
"She didn't say so, but I can tell by the way she was looking at you she figured it out. Next time she's alone with me and not stuffed full of food I'll probably get 20 questions." He chuckled. "I don't mind, she's just protective."
"It's okay, just that I wasn't sure..." Chris smiled. "She said something that could be taken either way. But yeah... I told her I'd take care of you," he said.
"She knows me, and she knows I don't get involved easily, so she worries twice as much when I do." He laughed, snuggling in against Zach. "I can't believe you've never dealt with snow. I mean, at least once or twice."
"Just never been anywhere it did," Chris said. "We'd spend winters in LA - Dad was always working on something when I was a kid. I think I saw it like... god, so many years back now. But it feels so different like this. With you."
Zach nodded, pressing a kiss to the other mans temple lightly. "I'm glad we could share this. I really am." He let out a soft shiver. "I'm so not dressed to be out here, I think my ass is permanently numb."
"Maybe we should go back inside and I can warm you up, which sounds much less cheesy when it's a part of the actual goal," Chris said. "I don't want you getting sick."
"I say we curl up and watch something horribly cheesy that we'd never watch any other time of year, in bed, till we doze off. I'd suggest more but my bedroom is next to moms, and while she's okay with it I doubt she wants a soundtrack." He grazed their lips together lightly.
"I think that sounds just about perfect, and no... no soundtrack. I think I can wait until... well, at least until we're on the plane heading back tomorrow," Chris teased as he stood up.
"Look at you, I fuck you once and suddenly you want it anywhere and everywhere. Can't say that I mind of course." He stood, stroking the other mans hair as he pulled him into the house.
"Well, it's not just the fucking, it's your mouth and your hands, and my mouth and my hands," Chris whispered in Zach's ear, so they wouldn't disturb anyone else.
Zach let out a soft moan. "God you're brutal, things like that when said in this situation can hurt a man." He laughed lightly.
"I would never hurt you," Chris said. "Worst comes to worst, you can jerk off in the shower." He unpeeled the first layer. He then touched Zach's cheek. "You're so cold, baby."
"Good point, not nearly as fun, and its COLD out there." He laughed. "Lets get upstairs. The bed isn't going to warm itself."
"Okay," Chris followed him. "Any movie in mind?" He looked over the selection.
"Something that isn't thought provoking, but won't make me nod off in two minutes. Comedy maybe?" Zach suggested.
Chris picked one out. "This okay?" he said. It was Pirates Of The Caribbean.
"That works." Zach smiled. "Eyecandy doesn't hurt either." He tugged his shirt off over his head and tossed it into the hamper and slipped his pants off, grabbing a sleep pair from his bag and replacing them before his legs could get too cold.
"Not at all painful," Chris nodded, grinning. He stripped down, too, and got into a pair of sleep pants. He was still just a little stiff and sore from being fucked for the first time but it was good pain. even though he winced.
"Hurting?" Zach sounded concerned. "Did I hurt you?"
"It's just that I'm not used to being fucked, baby," Chris said. "It's good pain..."
"When we get home I'll have to kiss it better." He smiled, moving to the bed and slipping under the covers, holding them open for Chris.
"I seem to remember you promising me that," Chris got in and snuggled up to Zach. He whispered in his ear. "Something about me sitting on your face?"
"Yah...I did, and I meant it. Keep talking like that and I'll need a shower tonight." He bit his lip gently.
"So would that be encouragement or discouragement?" Chris gave Zach the remote and snuggled a bit more.
Zach laughed, starting the movie and carding his fingers through Chris' hair. "Well, I'd be alone, so that much would suck."
"Then I'll be good," Chris said. "It's not so much fun without you..." he said. Settling in, he started to watch the movie.
"Everything is better if you share it with someone." Zach sighed, trying to settle down and focus on the movie.
"What's wrong?" Chris could tell there was something bothering Zach. "Or am I just talking too much?" giving him an out if he really didn't want to talk.
"Nothings wrong...Its just all a bit...surreal. Having this, theres moments that I'm waiting for the director to call cut, you know?"
"You mean me, us?" Chris asked. He moved to touch Zach's cheek, stroking gently. "It's real. We're here. I could pinch you if you're not sure?"
"No pinching." He smiled. "I know it is, sometimes it feels like its not..." He pressed a gentle kiss to Chris' hand.
"Well, if you insist," Chris grinned. "And... I know what you mean, I think. I never expected to fall in love with you... but I did."
"Snuck up on both of us." He sighed happily. "In a good way, but still."
"It did," Chris agreed. "And it still feels half real sometimes, like it could disappear," he said. "But it won't."
"Not if I can help it. And plus now moms cooking will keep you here." He laughed, grinning.
"Zach," Chris said, shaking his head. "Your mac and cheese would be all I'd need to keep me here." He kissed Zach, softly. "I need you, not a million other things."
"I'll remember that the next time I make a bad batch." He chuckled. "I'm thankful for it though, don't get me wrong."
"That's when I'll call for pizza," Chris said, because he would never one up Zach by whipping something up in the time it took to throw the bad batch away, even though he was more than capable.
"You're sweet." Zach chuckled. "And I love pizza."
"So do I," Chris laughed too. "We're going to be okay, baby. If we can just figure out how to believe that."
"I know we will. Even Joe liked you and he was defaulting to being an ass, I could tell he was testing you."
"Oh I know all about siblings testing the other's boyfriend or girlfriend," Chris smiled. "I've been on both sides of it myself. Didn't phase me a bit."
"I'll get even later, don't worry." He laughed softly.
"You mean when he has the guy or girl trembling in their shoes?" Chris laughed. "If it's next Christmas I'll have won Joe over just in time to help out on that..."
"Yah, Something like that." Zach smiled. "He's a bit more of a vagabond then I am when it comes to lovers."
"Or he hasn't met the right one yet," Chris said. "I know it took Katie forever... you know how in most families they worry the son will never settle down? In our family it's been the opposite. I've always known that when I met the right person I'd be settling down with them... and yes, that's you. Katie always said she never would. Until, of course, the right person came into her life."
"Some people just rebel like that. Buck conformity or whatever. I was never a buck-er...if that's a word." He kissed Chris' forehead happily.
"I don't know, I've seen your hips buck before now," Chris teased. He snuggled Zach. "I know. It's all good. But I bet you... when Joe falls? It'll be so hard you can see the bruises."
"I'm sure." Zach nodded. "When he does something, he does it big."
"Think it runs in the family," Chris smiled. He was watching the movie but the conversation with Zach was more important.
Zach chuckled. "We're passionate, its the Italian in me, I swear."
"I like that about you," Chris said. "And yes, I like everything about you, but your passion is amazing. And hot."
"I bet you think that after last night." Zach teased. "My passion left you sore, if you hadn't noticed, but that's your fault too for being so deliciously hot."
Chris chuckled. "I noticed, but it's that kind of good pain, like you get with running, you know? Well, not exactly like that, but that kind of pain," and he knew he'd opened himself wide for a joke with that. "I wanted you - I want you - so much. I want more of it. Not now, but soon..."
"Well its stretching a muscle, and I know you got good and stretched too, I was rougher then I meant to be." He smirked. "But you didn't mind did you?"
"I loved it, and I kind of knew that," Chris murmured. "There's something..." he looked into Zach's eyes, murmuring the words softly enough that they couldn't carry, "so hot about you giving me pain, and I don't know what it is..." he didn't know if Zach would know either... but he knew Zach would know more than he did.
"How far do you want to take that Chris? That statement can mean a lot if you want it too." He bit his lip. "I can give you as much pain as you need."
"I don't know," Chris answered, honestly. He moved closer to Zach. "I don't know much about this stuff... you'll have to teach me." He smiled. "I want to know more..."
"Okay...we'll start small. Work our way up to as far as you want to go." He nodded. "Want to make this amazing for you, want to blow your mind."
"I know a little... I guess this is kink or fetish type stuff? Spanking?" Chris frowned, trying to think of the things he'd seen on TV and in movies. "Tying up?"
"I am so starting with those, cause they both sound amazingly sexy." He grinned. "The idea of you over my lap and whimpering is so fucking hot."
"You like that?" Chris grinned. "Got to admit I haven't done much more than hold a girl's hands above her head... and had a couple scratch up my back, that's really hot..." he laughed. "God... I bet I sound like even more of a naive virgin than when we started this..."
"That's not a bad thing, just means I get to make you mine even more." He smiled. "Don't worry."
"You make me feel like I don't have to," Chris smiled. "That means more than anything else... that I'm right." He stroked Zach's hair. "I was never quite right before... but now I am."
"I am glad I can give you that." Zach smiled. "I am so glad."
"I sometimes wonder what it is I give you," Chris murmured. "But I know I do - I see it in your eyes."
"You gave me stability the minute I met you. Somewhere to want to be, someone to want to love me." he smiled. "A center to the universe. I'd still be floating if you hadn't grounded me"
Chris kissed Zach gently. "I'm glad to have given you that... I think you need it." He looked at a picture of a very young Zach with his father. "I think you've needed it for a long time."
"I know I have, and now I have it thank god." He laughed. "I missed being sane and I didn't even know it."
"You feel sane with me?" Chris smiled. "That's a good thing. And I'm glad you have that with me..." he snuggled just a little closer - he couldn't get much closer than he was.
"I do, much to my surprise." He chuckled. "I love this, and you so much."
"As I love you," Chris smiled. "I'm yours, Zach. It's really that simple to me."
Zach gave a happy sigh, relaxing against the other man happily, not knowing what else to say.
Chris looked out of the window, watching the snow fall. Words just weren't necessary any more.
