What I Learned in Life from Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse and the Fugitive-ism of Roman Polanksi

From these two disparate sources, I learned that there is no fate but what we make.

No one is destined, like Obi Wan or Morpheus would have us believe, to walk down a certain path, to have all the atoms in the universe line up to make sure a certain timeline unfolds, simply because it is so obviously for the good of the universe.

Funny enough - don't know if you saw the 3rd episode of this season, "Belle Chose" - that guy that plays Victor demonstrated the whole problem in a nutshell: Dollhouse has shown the limited range of acting ability that Eliza has. When that guy played the role of KiKi in the club, he blew away her performance. Also, of course, whenever an episode is focused on Sierra, the actress who plays her hits a home run. "Spy in the House of Love" and the latest episode "Belonging."

I think if Joss is given a second third chance with Fox to keep the show on the air, he needs to, at the very least, reset his mind and make it an ensemble show, and not a show specifically focusing on Echo/Caroline. After all, the show is called Dollhouse, not Echo.

Like you, I want so much for the show to work. But reality is reality.

i used to think that my love for joss knew no bounds...dollhouse is forcing me to reconsider. it's the quintessential trainwreck for me - i can't stop watching, but i'm watching with my hands over my eyes! to be honest, i've never been a fan of eliza dushku's acting - though i would've tuned into faith (i think i might've already told you that i moved into her old apartment right after she vacated...weird, because it was at the zenith of my btvs obsession.) i totally agree with you that dollhouse needs to become an ensemble to have a chance of survival. hell, it might even have enough talent in the ranks to pull it off. that victor kid...
