Please lend me your ear. Or I might cry with joy all by myself.

Even if you didn't intend on it, I advise that your take the time out and see the movie Valentine's Day, which I saw Saturday at a screening. Its opening dates are here on IMDb ( Read more... )

Sounds like a rental to me. I fucking HATE those romantic comedies!

I loooove romantic comedies. Though of course I don't like bland, and interchangeable women who all look the same. I also don't like that Taylor Swift keeps winning Grammys, even though she can't really sing, so that might taint my viewing a bit.

Taylor is a hunk of adorableness, but I thought his acting was suspect in Twilight...I think I would like to see him play dumb and goofy because that will suit him and his sweet smile much better. *G*

And there are lots of other awesome people in the film, so I did *squee* quite a bit at that. Will hubby be tortured if I take him? He's pretty open-minded.

I thought his acting in Twilight was terrifying, too. I did not go into this movie under anything but heavy protest. lol. I don't mind romcoms, I just don't like the way they're done nowadays.

Oh no, your husband won't be bothered by anything in the movie at all. I think he might actually enjoy it. The movie sure does try. And definitely stay through the end credits. There are bloopers, one worth seeing.

Thanks for the heads-up! The critics have *eviscerated* it. Gah. Only 16% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is scary. But then again, Forbidden Kingdom got 65%, and that was actually offensive on some levels. So sometimes the critics are way off base.

Like hordes of other women, I will no doubt go and see this anyway. :P I'm not looking for brain surgery. The Ugly Truth got 14% and I enjoyed the hell out of that. Charming stars do a lot for me. Not that I don't want them to be in better movies, but sometimes a bit of fluff with charming peeps is okay by me. :)

They don't have a release date for Canada! *throws a fit* =P I just saw the commercial for it, looks a bit like Love Actually (which I love!), so maybe I'll go see it.

It's trying to be Love Actually. A movie which I watch every Christmas without fail. So. much. love. for that movie.

Yeah, I checked again and sure enough, no release date for Canada. But I have a feeling it'll open the same day as in the US, as some studio distributors consider Canada a "domestic" release as part of North America. Hope!

Take some advil against the pain of the rest of the movie, and see it. God, please see it so I can talk to someone about it before something breaks in me.
