Stress: the Stuff of Life
Oi. I am so stressed. Mother entirely on-compliant with her meds. Husband non-compliant to a lesser degree. #1 daughter so far off the wagon she's on a rocket ship, and, daughter #2 is moving to OH in 2 days. TWO days. 12 hours away. *sigh*. Not that we spent all this time together, BUT, the possibility was there.

I have kept secrets my whole life, and letting them out is unimaginably hard.
Over the last ten years I have managed to completely isolate myself from the once healthy group of friends I had. After spending at least 2 years petrified of going to social events and as a result canceling on every invitation I received, I finally succeeded in being alone, only to finally realize that I don't want to be alone, I am just afraid ( Read more... ) -

so...my hubby & friends are making noise music, and there is nothing sweet except for week old strawberry jello sugar-free cupcakes. And, how do you make week-old cake tasty? Fry it in butter, of course!

So, I really need to go grocery shopping. Dug into the downstairs freezer, and came up with a "spicy chicken and feta" flatbread pizza and a "buffalo chicken dip". Combined with blue cheese dressing from take away the other night, it's a trash-tastic dinner.

Cruise another day!
Well, thanks to mother nature, our cruising adventure has been extended by a day. Not something I was wishing for, but certainly Better than being shortened by a day! Thankfully, we're only about 2.5 hours away from home. AND, I work from home, so I can roll out of bed at 7:45 and be at work by 8 am.

Disconcerting = listening to the 45+ mph winds and creaking and groaning of the ship around you while you're trying to sleep.

Cruise!
Awesome! 2nd day on the ship. It's been wonderful. The first time I got "mad", himself noticed and asked. I told him, then thanked him for asking. When I got "mad" again, he asked me again. I was to caught up in the emotion to explain then. I let it ride for a little while until I was able to, an having been expressed, it dissipated. Yay us!

Freaking Out
So, I'm kinda totally freakig out. I've been telling my husband for 2 years he has high sugar and he won't listen to me. I FINALLY got him to get his bloodwork done and it's 224. Jesus fucking Christ. He is drinking less soda, but doesn't seem to get that he has to change the food eats. Like,start eating vegetables. Not just corn and potatoes. ( Read more... ) -
Trying to lose weight
I supposedly lost 2 lbs on about a week or so, but seeing as my calories were roughly 1400, and I was mostly eating fruits veg & unprocessed meats, I wasn't too surprised. I may have to revisit they now, as I got on the scale this morning and it claims I lost another 3 lbs in a week and I had pizza & beer fir dinner last night. I need another scale ( Read more... )
