Just had a run in on the phone with someone who called me a 'real smartarse' (and I can be - I'm the first to admit it!) and I had the presence of mind to come back straight away with "Objectively I'd say I was pretty smart, but that has nothing to do with my arse."  Broke the tension and we both had a good laugh.  :)
