Character
Name: Harry Mason
Series: Silent Hill
Timeline: Middle of Silent Hill 1, when he passes out in the other church after talking to Cybil.
Canon Resource Links: Silent Hill wikipedia

Affiliation: Trainer, later he may want to be a breeder.

Personality: To put Harry's personality simply, he's a father. Of course there is more to Harry then just that but being a good parent is the backing for most of his decisions. He's certainly not the typical father portrayed in media who tend to be the bad guys of the story. Harry goes through hell and back to find his daughter-- a daughter who isn't even related by blood to him. The whole story of Silent Hill 1 is about an widowed adoptive father getting his daughter back from the crazed biological mother basically.

Although Harry is mainly devoted to his daughter he is willing to help anyone who needs it. He does a lot of caring and tries his best to help everyone else before himself. In the end though if it came down to it, he wouldn't let anything stop him from reaching his goal. An example of this is in the game with Cybil, you can save her but there is really no hint as to how until after you've beaten the game once. As much as I think Harry would have liked to have saved her as well, he will kill her to make sure he can still go on and save his daughter.

He's a loving, caring devoted father that has determination or at least the right drive to get things done. He's friendly to people while still keeping a solemn air to him. He may be a bit oblivious at time, but he isn't dumb. He's naive still though and an optimist at heart. He most likely wouldn't get that he was being used until all evidence was flat out on the table. I.E. Dahlia in the game uses Harry to stop Alessa who was actually trying to save the town. Harry didn't know what was going on and Dahlia used that to trick him into stopping something good and help her in the end summon 'god'.

He's also a planner, he didn't get to do much of it in Silent Hill 1 since the whole thing was unexpected but as prepared as Heather was in Silent Hill 3 without even knowing it's safe to assume Harry did the planning for her.

Strengths/Weaknesses: Strengths- His devotion to the people he cares about is a strength for sure. You would not want to deal with Harry if you messed with someone he cared about. He would mess your shit up for REALSSS. Hey hey, he's killed people for his daughter's sake. He can't do that in this the pokemon world without getting in some trouble with the police I'd suspect but that's something to think about.

He's a good role model as well. It's an odd strength I suppose but in a world with a mash up of people it's nice to have someone who is normal and sane voice of reason. He has no super powers, nothing that really makes him special so what he offers is himself.

His habit to plan is a strength though he is just fine making stuff up on the go. Look at all of the game, killing 'god' at the end of the day is certainly an accomplishment for someone who had no clue what was going on. He doesn't need to know what's going on though to for a battle strategy though. Out of all the Silent Hill characters Harry is the most strategic. He aims the longer you wait to shoot, dodge and strafe even though those last ones are things the other Silent Hill protagonists can do.

Physically Harry is pretty good at booking it though. The man really knows how to run when he needs to and has good enough stamina to keep going for a while before he needs to slow down.

Weaknesses-Harry is clumsy, he may know how to get a weapon working for him to use but that by no means says he's going to be good at it. Many times he will miss his shot, especially if he didn't aim first. Good thing he doesn't have to worry about that here. 8I

His willingness to help people. While that is a good thing for everyone else and it makes Harry happy that he can help other people..... he will more often then naught neglect himself for them. Not taking care of himself isn't a good thing, just about as much as saying he'll go check something potentially dangerous before a cop would who actually has training in this sort of thing. Putting himself in harms way isn't good.

He isn't exactly strong either. He has more of a lithe build to his body. He can certainly take care of things when he needs too but his body isn't built like a power house like James for example. He certainly has more strength then his daughter Heather though.

Harry = technology fail. This isn't too big of a weakness but really the guy comes from 1986. Pokemon world technology is like super advanced for him and he isn't really tech savvy to begin with....

Samples
(Please note that both samples must take place in Route_29’s setting.)

First Person Sample: [sounds of the pokegear getting messed with in an attempt to get it to work. Audio only right now.]

Did I finally get this to work? I think I might have...

I don't know if anyone is getting this or not, I was told this thing was used for communication among other things but it's a bit complicated to use. I'll figure it out though so that's not the point of this.

Does anyone know where or if Alchemilla Hospital is near here? Or I suppose a town called Silent hill for that matter. They say this place is Johto, but who knows. Maybe I'm just dreaming... It certainly wouldn't be the first time I've woken up somewhere else.

If anyone could help though that would be great. I don't have the time to be making creatures fight each other, I need to find my daughter.

Ah- yeah if anyone has seen a little girl with short black hair around 7 years old please tell me.

Third Person Sample: Despite most of the crowd leaving the small little town known as New Bark Town, Harry had decided to stay. At least he was staying for now. He wanted no part in making creatures battle one another for fun and he really wasn't keen on starting his 'very own Pokemon adventure'. He had a dilemma though, he needed to find his daughter. Despite the low odds there was a chance maybe she had found her way here and had already wandered out of town for some reason. There was also the chance of her showing up here later. From what he had gathered from the professor people had been appearing here in waves so it wasn't too much of a stretch to imagine her showing up.

Both of those were pretty far out there in terms of ideas. Perhaps more so then a world built around fighting and catching creatures. Simple solution is he needed to get back to Silent Hill. Cybil had mentioned she saw a girl head towards the lake which is clearly not here. He hadn't known how to even get to the lake really, all the roads were gone. He had intended to go back and ask Lisa but he'd be lucky if he could even get back to Silent Hill at this rate.

This certainly was different that the other times he had passed out before. When he did that before at least he was still in town when he came to, monsters were still around and the town remained a ghost town. This place was brighter, the monsters more so like cute mutant pets, and the fact that there was suddenly people everywhere, just as confused as him.

He needed to figure out something though because sitting around some small little town was not helping getting his daughter back and it wasn't getting him back to where he needed to be right now any sooner.
