It's me - the long lost Supernatural Fan! And I've gone rogue... and gone to a Stargate Convention. Of course, I was a Stargate fan LONG before I was a Supernatural fan, but... I hope they'll forgive me.
Here's my synopsis of the
It was a crazy week - Wednesday, I had to drive 3.5 hours each way to a seminar (I was the driver last minute) and didn't get home until around 2:30 am. Had rounds in the morning and then was at work for most of the day. Was in and out dropping off dogs and getting things ready to leave. Was really tired though! So I fell asleep that night (before Burn Notice, darn it) while waiting for my clothes to wash. So I set my alarm for 4 am and got up and packed. Headed into work to drop something off and followed a horse trailer in. Never a good sign! So I went around back and there were no cars there. So, either this was an unannounced emergency, or a drop off. I called out and couldn't find a single person in the barn. So I had to put the horse in the stall and feed and water it. I had only left myself so much time and this was putting me behind! AHHH! At least the airport is only 15 minutes away! And you can park right in front for FREE! I love Manhattan!
I finally got to the airport and on my way. Slept on the flight from Dallas to Chicago - of course, I was in an exit row, which gives my knees a breather, but that means you can't move your seat back. I end up either sleeping slack jawed or falling forward and flailing awake - making a fool of myself every time. At least I didn't fall asleep, drooling, on my neighbor.
Got to Chicago and on to the hotel. This convention is in the Westin - which is also where the Supernatural convention is going to be. What a great upgrade!!! The only complaint I had was the restrooms but the rest was great - great food, the rooms were cool (temperature-wise), and roomy, and, after I finally figured out how to turn the damn shower on, the water pressure was awesome! So, good on Creation for finding a much better hotel!
This was what greeted us as we walked in. GREAT idea for a photo op!!!
I walked in about 1/4 of the way through Steve Bacic's panel. Wow. How embarrassing and rude! I hope they never invite him back. I was so embarrassed for the kids sitting behind me. It was REALLY awkward!!!
I couldn't find my little camera before I left so I lugged my big one around. So I didn't grab it for the first guests, Dan Shea, Andee Frizzell, and Chris Heyerdahl, but did manage to grab this photo:
That is Dan Shea, shirtless, doing pushups!!!
We also got a preview of "Alphonso", Robert Picardo's "cousin". Here is what they showed us (Warning: Definitely Rated R):

He then went off to "prepare for the women of the night" and then Andee came on and had some funny stories of dating. A little awkward as well, but pretty funny, regardless!
Then came the Karaoke party! There were some really great singers there!!! Here are some videos of the ones who were brave enough to go up there!

Chris, Andee, Robert, and Dan were all at the karaoke party. They were all very generous with their time - and seemed to have a great time doing it! No one got crazy or touchy feely that I could see - totally different than SPN cons. It was nice!!!
I think that's about it for the first night. I was totally a zombie by the time the night was through - but I had a great time!!! More tomorrow: pics of Joe Flanigan, David Hewlett, and... Michael Shanks!!!
But before I go, here are some fun photos from the weekend!
Good night!!!
