A high pitched giggle pulled Pansy out of her work, looking down where her son was supposed to be. She shook her head in amusement, she knew having a child would be hard work, but never anticipated that her son would be just like his father-always getting into trouble.
Pansy stood and looked around the patio table, turning her head as another giggle escaped her two year old. She walked over to him, watching silently as he began to poke the snail that was trying so desperately to get across the potted plant. She bent down beside her son, his disheveled head of hair looked up at her, smiling and so help her she couldn’t help but smile back.
“Pans,”
She turned her head towards the familiar voice.
“I’m here,”
Gurgling sounds could be heard from their son, and Pansy turned back and gasped in surprise as he picked the snail up and was about to put it in his mouth.
“Honey,” she stopped herself from panicking. She cringed, immediately taking the slimy snail away “don’t do that. It’s dirty,”
Pansy could easily hear her husband’s laugh. She carried their son away from the potted plant, and his new found friend. He did not morn the lost for too long for he found interest in his mother’s hanging earrings.
“Brandon,” said Harry, easily taking him from Pansy. “Been keeping your mother on her toes I see,” he said, winking.
“I think he’s been behaving badly because he knows that he can,” Pansy sighed as Harry kissed her lightly.
“Aw, you wouldn’t do that to mummy, would you,” Harry said, lifting his son who answered with more gurgling, making faces. “See, he says no,”
Harry jutted his bottom lip out and Brandon giggled. Pansy couldn’t help but laugh at the two.
She rubbed her tummy unconsciously, a habit for the past weeks. It would not show for another month or two. Harry looked over at her with concern; she shook her head, kissing his lips softly. She loved moments like these, moments where she smiled foolishly with her family.
The End.
