“And what is this supposed to be?”
Harry looked up at Pansy, a confused look on her face. She held the receiver of the yellow colored telephone in her hands, dangling from the cord. Hanging up the phone, Harry laughed, which got him a sneer.
“It’s called a ‘telephone,’ muggles use it to call each other.” he said
Pansy gave Harry strange look.
“It’s kind of like using the floo network. Instead of floo powder they use these numbers to connect to the other lines,” Harry explained, pushing the buttons to demonstrate. “And instead of kneeling down, you put this to your ear in order to hear and speak to who ever is on the other line,” he smiled “But, we don’t get to see the other person on the other end, we just hear them.”
Pansy quirked her eyebrow up at her fiancé, trying to understand what in Merlin’s name he was explaining. She had seen the contraption once before, but that had been years ago in Hogwarts, muggle studies. Now, she really desperately wished she paid more attention.
“Then, why on earth would we use that...that thing,” she asked, pointing to the phone. “Instead of the floo network, where you can actually see the ones you’re talking to? It seems useless,” she added
“We’ll be using both, floo network for wizard contact and phone for muggles,” he assured her, and he saw her relax.
Harry laughed at his soon to be wife. He was slowly introducing her to new things that were muggle. She just looked so cute when she tired to hide her worry of muggle things. Harry smiled at Pansy who looked at him like he was a creature Hagrid would bring home.
“Please tell me again why I ever agreed to marry you? And why I ever agreed to move into a muggle home,” she asked, trying out the buttons on the phone.
“Because you love me and you can’t resist my boyish charms even if you wanted to,” he said, kissing lightly, wrapping his arms around her waist.
“Oh, is that why,” she answered, smiling brightly as she looked up.
“Of course it is,” he said
Pansy nodded in agreement, kissing him lovingly.
“I’m still not using that thing,” she said finally, softly against his lips and distracting him from trying to teach her anymore. Harry grinned foolishly knowing her well enough of what she was doing, but not caring at all. She always had to get the last word, he thought, that’s Pansy.
The End.
