She made her way through the gnome filled yard. Some of them even seemed to remember who she was and waved; she smiled back at them. She hadn’t been back for months, but the Weasley yard looked the same.
She remembered the first time entering Gryffindor territory; she’d admit that it was a bit intimidating. In fact, she had been reluctant to go, but he made her comfortable and he never left her side, just as she asked him to.
It wasn’t as if she was banned, the Weasley matriarch welcomed her with open arms. She just decided that it was his place, and not hers. She understood that concept very clearly. She needed to keep her distance. But, it wasn’t Molly Weasley’s invitation that brought her to the Burrow today, it was his-- He invited her to the Burrow.
She didn’t know how to make of the situation. At first, She decided not to attend but she was convinced otherwise.
The dark haired witch smoothed her dress lightly. Her high heels dug into the soft ground instantly with each step. She didn’t even know if it was appropriate to bring a date or not, but she decided on the latter. She didn't feel like doing any introductions today.
She was nervous about seeing him again. She was sure that they’ve changed. She stopped in mid-stride before anyone knew she had arrived, knowing immediately what the occasion had been. She had been part of one just like it not too long ago. The signs and streamers confirmed it for her.
She had known of his affairs from Molly, and has come very far in accepting that he has moved on. But, she did not, however, know the seriousness of the relationship. She watched the couple from afar, carefully. He held his belle’s hand, and kissed her lightly on the forehead.
She recalls the very first time they had an official date. He had reserved a spot at the local bar. She at least thought he was going to bring her to a restaurant of some sort; but, that wasn’t the case, it was a bar for merlin’s sake. It was something she wasn’t used to. In fact, there were many things in their relationship she hadn’t been used to, but she knows that he had changed her for the better.
She made a silent pact to herself that no matter the obstacles they’ve gone through; She was going to support him. She could at least give him that. She was, after all the one that broke off their engagement.
He finally spotted her and nodded in her direction with a small smile. She reciprocated by blowing a kiss in his direction. She now understood why he invited her today. She finally understood that he had forgiven her.
