(Deleted and edited for typos - twice >.William Gibson put it well in his book Count Zero, one of the characters, a Loa was discussing some of the differences between Vodou and more archetypal religions. They said, in reference to what I have surmised to be some kind of Vodou creation deity (I am unschooled in the subject) "too big and too far away to care whether or not you're getting laid." It is a little low-brown in terms of vernacular but the point is fairly clear that this powerful being has much better things to concern themselves with than any individuals welfare
