Background info on your character:
How it starts-- In China, there is a training ground known as the Jusenkyo. There, only few people goes to train for one reason, the cursed springs. Falling into them would transform a person into whatever first fell in. From here Ranma fell in and now transforms to a girl by the touch of cold water. Not only that, but Ranma is scheduled to have a finance arranged by his father and the father's friend who owns the Tendo Dojo that Ranma will inherit. Oh Ranma, what to do here.
The family--Meet Ranma, age 16. A tall young teen with dark braided hair and eyes. Ramna's common clothing is a red Chinese top with light blue pants. Ranma continues to train martial arts, and his fighting style is 'Anything Goes Martial Arts'. Ranma is the only son in the Saotome family along with his father Genma and his mother Nodoka. Ranma was only two when his father took him away to have his son undergo martial arts training that would last to 14 years.
During the trip, Genma (Ranma's father) took them both to China to the Jusenkyo training ground. Not knowing about the curse, both men jumped right in and began their training. The cursed spring got their attention when Ranma kicked his father first to the Shonmaoniichuan (Spring of Drowned Panda). Ranma was surprised to watch a panda emerge from the pond and fought back. Genma was now cursed, not only him. Attacking Ramna surprised, he kicks Ranma to a different spring, the Nyannichuan (Spring of Drowned Girl). Of course, Ranma emerges and he's a girl. What they both learned is by contact with cold water they will return to the curses form. By hot water it would temporary change them back to once they were (cause we all know its going to happen a whole lot in the series).
The Family arrangements-- After 14 years of training, Genma and Ranma returns to Japan to meet Soun Tendo, Genma's best friend. In the beginning Ranma disputes taking the role Genma intended Ranma to part take. His anger and energetic is shown here as he countlessly fights with his father, how they talk is by fists and kicks yeah a lot of energy. He also part take the stubbornness here thanks to his 'old man'. Whether Ranma's choice or not, Genma dragged Ranma to Tendo's home in keeping a promise to his best friend. There the arrangements was made and Ranma would wed the youngest sister, Akane. From there, their relationship began. Akane is described as a 'tom boy'. Knowing Ranma's curse, the two older sisters decided Akane would fit best to be Ranma's fiancee, especially knowing she hates boys. Their relationship in the beginning, nothing but arguments and disputes. Both accepted they hate the idea what their parents have done. Ranma even would make remarks of Akane's figure, saying his female is better than his the most. Although the both disputes and make harsh comments to each other, Ranma does care for Akane's feelings when she isn't a tom boy the most. Ranma would try to ignore her at times holding his stubbornness but in reality, he actually does try to figure out what is wrong with her and try to fix it, his fault or not. Later in the series Ranma has shown jealously.
In the second season, the two accepts the challenge of the 'Anything Goes Figure Skating'. Here Ranma purposely throws a small piece of food to the gentleman who was about to kiss Akane. And later during the match, Ranma admits to him that Akane is indeed his finance.
Ranma's female side-- Although Ranma can be female as well by the touch of cold water, he still and will remain heterosexual. He prides highly on being a man. Though he has a female figure, Ranma is still unconformable seeing other naked females. At first, Ranma hated the fact he can become a girl, always spoke of returning to China to find the cure for the curse. Of what his feminine side brought thus far were mostly rivals such as Kodachi Kuno from the 'Martial Arts Rhythmic Gymnastics' in which he competed for Akane and Shampoo. The only down sides Ranma has faced of being a girl was having Tatewaki Kuno confess his love to the 'pigtailed girl' and having a constant of grope on the chest. Yes, even Ranma finds it very unconformable for a male touching his feminine chest. The worst nightmare he had to endure was having an actual kiss from a figure skater guy. That shattered Ranma drastically.
His rivals--Ever since Ranma began his training, he somehow made rivals both in China and in Japan. Just somehow, the people would follow him and its not just demanding for a fighting match. Somehow he has also been engage to arrange marriages either by his father or himself.
One perfect example is Ryoga Hibiki also known to be lost. When both were young, Ryoga and Ranma attended the same all male school. Ryoga is anger of loosing to Ranma especially for bread and challenged him to a fight after school. Three days later, the boy was lost to only find out Ranma went to China to train. Still insistent, Ryoga followed to China then back to Japan once more where he finally met Ranma at the same school where Akane attends as well. Ranma and Ryoga do share not only rivals in strength but also for love in which he also has an interest in Akane. Of course Ranma disputes him about it. There will be time for matches that Ryoga will try to show up and be Akane's partner instead of Ranma. And Ranma does the same but attempting to splash cold water on him as a solution. Even during other matches, no matter what they will end up fighting for some reason or none. Although they are perfect rivals they do sometimes compromise at the ideal and work together especially if its for Akane. Boys will be boys.
When Ranma began to attend school with Akane, his first rival in the series was Tatewaki Kuno. Tatewaki portrays his love to Akane and didn't accept Ranma being his fiancee. Tatewaki challenges Ranma using his kendo stance, and of course later lost. Here Ranma's sly personality is viewed, especially how he took it lightly against Tatewaki even though he did took an injury from his blow. Still Ranma calmly hops away and around, like when he decided to jump off the school's window from th"e 3rd floor. Ranma is pretty calm and confident. But, little does he know there will always be water coming his way. Ranma also finds Tatewaki disturbing especially since he has a crush to Ranma's feminine side. Ranma would always tell him to forget the 'pigtailed girl' and move on.
Shampoo, a Chinese Amazon, also followed Ranma to kill his female form after the incident back in China. She also later fell in love with male!Ranma and accepted him to be her husband. Of course there. is the rival of Akane but Shampoo did not care. When she left Japan to China, she returns along with Cologne, her great grand mother and the leader of the Amazon tribe. She also insists Ranma to marry Shampoo. This argument later result to a fight in where Ranma was stubborn to choose to become Shampoo's husband. Ranma refused to loose to Cologne and showed great determination over the woman's trial, or just stubborn.
And there is Mousse. Mousse hates Ranma for taking Shampoo away from him. Although for Mousse, he isn't interested in fighting with Ranma only wishes to prove to Shampoo he is a stronger male than Ranma is. And all really Ranma wants Shampoo to leave him.
His fear-Although Ranma doesn't show any fear he actually has one, ailurophobia (fear of cats). This developed during his training when his father tried to teach his son the "Nekoken" (Cat's fist) Technique. This was done by being covered in fish sausages and tossed into a pit of hungry cats. After that Ranma had the fear of cats. Any cats he comes across, Ranma will back away instantly or run as hell away. Although, if he was in a crisis state with many cats, like a tiger, Ranma will think he is a cat. Here he acts like a wild animal dominating the other, like another cat. Once he's calm down, he would take a nap on a lap to someone he trusts the most, that would be Akane. In his childhood, Ranma would rest on an old lady he trusted in the neighborhood. Since she is deceased, Akane is the next person Ranma trusts. It maybe his fear but this is also his weapon.

...hey. Now that I think about it, where did that old man ran off to? He, was just here a minute ago right? Yeah, we were about to argue and fight again. Damnit you old man, running away even before a fight.. Isn't it somewhere in the damn CODE where it says 'not running' and stuff?!
Heh..alright you old man where the hell are you hiding now! You can't hide from me forever! ...Damnit pop. Well, yelling out here won't do any good. I'll just have to find him. Now to get back to--
