Update kinda thing
So.... Been a little while since I did this. Stuff has happened that's been keeping me busy. Hopefully, this won't be the Wall O'Text and I can give you guys the Readers Digest version.
My brother passed away in November 2017. We hadn't spoken in easily 10 years (his doing, not mine). I didn't mind that though. He was a sociopath. Not kidding about that. When he passed, it was very sudden and he'd never gotten around to writing a will. I cannot recommend doing that strongly enough. I am all that is left as far as immediate family goes so it falls to me to take on the role of executor of his estate. Holy crap, that's a giant headache. I'm still waiting on the paperwork to be able to put before the courts to be declared the executor. Once it in the system, its another 6-8 weeks to get the legal stuff signed. In the mean time, all bills for things like gas, hydro, insurance, etc. need to come out of pocket for me as his accounts are frozen until an executor is declared. And getting to his house is a 2 hour plane ride. Oh, he was also an organized hoarder. Not in the lots of junk you can just throw away sense either. It's all good stuff that can be sold for a nice bit of coin. The Hubby will be going up to the house to catalogue everything and get all the stuff ready for sale when I'm legally allowed to do so. Fun times.
On writing, I'm still trundling along on Escape Velocity that has recently begun posting over at Yaoifix.com. I've also written a new novella called Metamorphosis that is Valerian's backstory (it's from my Divine Worship world). Not sure yet how I'll get that out to readers as the content/themes will not be to everybody's tastes (90% non-con, sex slave training, assorted kinks, you know, my usual sort of stuff *snickers*). I also started the follow up novel to that, The Dire Heart, which is Ondraeden/Valerian's story. I wasn't supposed to do that. The next story I had planned was Rolling In The Deep (Wu-Tyr/Yalaren), but what can I do? I'm a slave to what the Muse demands. And I'm having hella fun with Ondraeden/Valerian.
The writing bug has bitten hard and it feels pretty good. In roughly 1 month I've written about 80K. Nope, not a typo. And I even did that while being sick with the flu for 2 weeks. I'm trying to finish off the last chapter of The Fire Of Godly Devotion (Saraf/Edenlei) but TDH keeps shoving itself to the front of the line. I know I also need to get back to Absolute Destiny but it's hard to keep on course when something else is burning my brain to be written.
On the doll front (oh, come on, you knew there'd be doll stuff), I've added to the Resin Army (of course I have *snorts*). At the end of August 2017, I finally ordered Eilam (SoulDoll Vito Rail). This Tuesday past, I finally got him. 5 months and 1 week from when I ordered him (SD was backlogged big time). He's gorgeous and I'm super happy with him but needs a wig as the one I bought ages ago doesn't fit (SD lied about the size. He doesn't take a 5/6 but a 7/8 wig).
In September, Iplehouse had a 1 month sale for a new doll (Creaa-J Lev) and he was perfect to be Wisp, so I bought him. I think I'm the only one who owns one as I've not seen any owner pics aside from mine and people on the Iple forum board seemed to hate him because of his super skinny aesthetic. Wisp is partner to Ra-Sui (SoulDoll Vito Azreal Skull Heirophant). Ra-Sui needs a body but when I ordered Eilam, I didn't have the funds to buy a body as well as a full doll. Wisp came home mid-October roughly 3 weeks after I ordered him so I think they just wiped the face-up on one of the promo dolls painted him as I wanted and shipped him out. Not complaining about that at all.
While browsing the MP on DoA in early November (just before my brother died), I came across a sale from someone I know and I immediately wanted to purchase the doll (Soom ID51 London the Moor). I hemmed and hawed a bit as I'd just purchased 2 dolls (Wisp was totally unplanned) but the price was awesome and I knew exactly who he was. The doll was also limited and long sold out so it was a now or never thing. I bought him. He is Ondraeden, God of Fear & Nightmares. Ondraeden was delivered to my office while I was away dealing with shutting down my brother's life but my boss accepted the package for me and paid my Custom fees (I paid him back immediately when I returned). I have the coolest bosses EVER.
And Iple also had a sale in December for their FID's. The Claude Vampire was perfect to be Valerian and I wasn't sure if he'd be released again so... I put him on layaway *head desk*. I'll make the final payment on him at the end of February so will likely see him in maybe March? Pretty jazzed for that.
So 4 dolls in pretty much 4 months. Yeah, I have an addiction. This brings my total to 46 dolls. No, I'm not really sure how that happened either. Hopefully, my doll buying is done for a while. I still need to get face-ups for both Wu-Tyr and Tohan but my doll funds needs to recover. With the stuff with my brother's estate and me being the only income in the house, that's slow going and my dolly savings are nearly depleted. But, I also don't really have any further doll purchases planned aside from a body for Ra-Sui and a head for the body I do have. The head is entirely dependant on when ImplDoll releases the head they've been working on since July of last year. That guy will be the partner to Mkhai (Impl Miguel the Demon Hunter).
