He’d been honorably discharged from the military a little over a year ago .... Roy laughed a little at all the fire that the twenty-year-old still possessed

So - does that mean Roy kept his position for four years before he was discharged? *is confused*

Anyway, I really like how this has started! The details of how Roy has sunk into a depression, and then the subtle and not-so-subtle ways Ed's trying to pull him out of it.

awwww shoot, operator error!! I just changed it to twenty from nineteen before I posted it because I like twenty better, but the original theory was something like he was 17-going-on-18 when Al gets restored, then Roy got discharged and a year-ish passed and that makes him 18-going-on-19 but I rounded it to 19 because I don't like making Roy a super-pedophile.

Great start! :D You know, I'm very much surprised that there have been no blind!Roy stories to speak of. Binaryalchemist has one she's working on and there may have been one or two drabbles/one shots but nothing really big. For something that really stands out in the manga storyline as much as Roy suddenly going blind does, you'd think there'd be more of a deal made of it. :/

You definitely don't have to worry about the "excessive fluff" taking over this fic. Roy has more than enough angst and self pitying going on to counter it! :D

I was surprised to see that Ed was 20 in this fic. I forget sometimes just how old he really is in the manga. :) (In my mind he is forever 16. ^_^) It doesn't seem like that much time has passed in the manga but I guess time gets away from you without you even noticing it. Ed's gentle guidance of Roy was so squeeable! :D Ed dropping his spoon at the mention of Roy looking like Ling was especially amusing! ^_^ Don't want that to happen at all now do we? LOL Can't wait to read more! :)

aww thanks. Lol, the spoon dropping was probably my favorite part, that and the two words "Noodle overload".

Thanks so much for the review! I think Blind!Roy is kind of a scary place to go, at least for me I'm hoping he's not forever blind in the manga D:
