bad_bad_booksRating: Nothing much. PG-13 @ most
Pairing: Implied Danny/Ryan and Timmy/Dru
Disclaimer: *sob* If he is watching the game, I have no way of knowing. *ahem* If they are.
AN: I warn all of you Danny and Dru fans...you might cry : (. I was in an emo mood. They're losing. (FFR: Set Oct. 5 07)
A misplaced shot misses the goal completely and ricochets off the glass behind.
I would have told Max to tighten up and move left. He would've made that one!
Ryan dives the opposite way and the puck hits the crossbar and drops in.
I would have trained Ryan to watch and dive in front of the entire net, instead of one side.
Thomas Vanek scores all by his lonesome: a true showing of his professional skill.
YES! Oh, if only they were still my team!
Ryan's eyes follow Jocelyn Thibault's ass as they file off the ice and into the locker rooms, first intermission.
You better bring those eyes up to his back, Millsy, babe. I might find it necessary to get a little rough...
"Let's go to Goose's mic on the ice, now!"
Oh, how I miss your voice, Paul. I miss you all so much!
A bad luck shot hits the back of the net and stops the Sabres streak cold.
Ryan, you're losing it. Ignore the fact I'm not there, baby. Work your magic like you would if I were.
His head falls into his hands. Five-Four, Sabres disadvantage.
They have to work on the passing and there are definitely too many dropped pucks; I'll have to hint that to Ryan when we talk next.
But he wasn't the captain of this phenomenal team anymore; he was just another spectator. It was doubtful they'd even listen to his advice anymore.
*Sigh*
He looks across the room at Chris sitting silently on the couch, watching the game but not watching it, his gaze fixed on one player in particular. One player with a head shaved bald and the number '19' emblazoned across the navy encasing his strong back.
"D'you think they really need us?"
Chris seems to just realize he's in the room.
"No. They were this good all along; we just gave them focus."
Now that they have that, they'll be unstoppable. Why is it that I'm proud of that, though my team is almost sure to lose?
He poses the question to Chris, who nods and shrugs.
"Maybe because that's not really your team? See those guys out there on the ice in the yellow and blue? That's your team."
Eight years and an unbreakable contract away from my boys; what the fuck was I thinking?
"Chris...I miss them."
Chris looks sad, his normally warm eyes dark and cold. "Me too, Danny. Me too."
Danny watches another Islander score with dim brown eyes.
If only.
