This weekend I realized something about myself. No matter how hard I try to push the "I don't need anyone" mentality and no matter how hard I try to convince myself that being alone is just find, I will always feel the opposite ( Read more... )

a) Sounds like you aren't generating enough of your own self love. If you gotta do what you gotta do, buy a wig and a diamond-studded belt and pelvic thrust around the house/street to Def Leppard. I hate it JStew. I hate how one could almost have to just go home to avoid that feeling.

It is like I seem distant if I keep that protective guard up, and if I let it down, well they'll think I'm opening the door for them. Of course they have to realize that I will NOT ask them in, it is up to them to put their foot in the door and knock and try to get in.

Again, as I mentioned above, it is only with certain females and at peak times of loneliness when you really just need a nice hug and someone to cuddle with (surprise ladies, we don't always think about sex!).

rob, i have no doubt in my mind you will meet someone fantastically wonderful and then all of this loneliness will be forgotten. i think it will make you appreciate what you will have even more.

and about never being viewed as hot...one thing i have learned in this crazy world is that there is ALWAYS someone out there who thinks you are the most gorgeous person on the planet. at least!

"... who thinks you are the most gorgeous person..." Yes, but mothers do not count! Nor do their friends (kinda creeps me out at times), as that simply reinforces the old saying "... only a mother could love ( ... )
