"What?! You agree with WHAT?"

[You know I suck at the LJ thing (or maybe the waking up thing) when I can write a three-sentence entry, get too exhausted to proofread it and post it before I go to bed, and run out of time to do it in the morning. So, despite appearances, this is actually YESTERDAY'S ENTRY. Today's entry will appear, well, later today. Maybe even before midnight ( Read more... )

Can I just say how *impressed* I am with your consistent posting? I used to be able to claim you as a friend who posted to LJ as regularly as I did, but now you're like, converted, or something. But it's really nice to read all about your neat goings-on, so I can't stay mad. Kudos on the crossover!

Hey, you! Thanks so much. Obviously, I'm already starting to suck at even these little tiny posts, but I'll try to stick with them for the forseable future. Of course, now that I'm actually involved with LJ again I am mildly jealous of people like you who are not forcing themselves to post, and somewhat sad that I don't get to hear any of your goings-on.

you are such a cheater, adding additional sentences just because they are italicized and behind brackets.

that, and i have a new phone but it has no numbers in it. can you send me an email with your phone number or a text saying it's you?

I AM a cheater! I still say the italicized and bracketed sentences--just administrative details, if you will--don't count, and I think I get to make that rule since it's my blog. But several of my last few posts had four or five sentences in the body of the post, and that is totally not okay. Why is no one calling me on this?

You should have my number now.

This is a very popular dish that I was introduced to while living in Hawaii. I'm pretty positive that it's a polynesian/Japanese fusion style dish...and not so much traditional Japanese.

I enjoyed experimenting with asian and polynesian cuisine---but I generally found traditional Japanese cooking to be too delicate for my kitchen-style of kung-fu.

Interesting. I don't generally see bost of those fish varieties around here (at least not in the supermarket), but perhaps I could try something similar. I'm not bad with Japanese, but that might be because I'm secretly a baker rather than a cook, so I do pretty well with precision.

Ahhhh ... I think you make a great point. I'm absolutely miserable at baking because I tend to expieriment (way too much). Which, is fine; except you really, really have to know what you're doing with baking in order to pull it off (the number of brick hard bread loaves I've created...tasty, but could kill a man).

I'm definitely not a precision practicing chef.

You win. For dinner I had an entire pot of grits.

But I don't actually know how to make grits! So we may just be even.

These aren't real grits. They're displaced southern boy grits, from a tube. A tube, I say.
