A P.S.A.:
Just in case anyone on my flist reads Locus and was curious about that thing in the "People and Publishing" section of the October issue: no, I haven't moved to Roc; yes, the rest of it is (mostly) true. I'll elucidate for the rest of you... um, soon. I've got a bit of a backlog, if you haven't noticed.

About that backlog: it has not ( Read more... )

Huzzah woosh, Ms. Cryptic. I couldn't find that thing on Locus online... how about satisfying my curiosity?

Whatever the report on Locus, I hope it's at least good news.

Much sympathy on juggling work and people- I wind up dropping people all the time. Some of them are starting to get bruised and testy. I wish I could give you the secret of making it all work, but I haven't figured it out either. Best of luck!

Dude, in the time that you have not been updating, I have moved to an entirely new country, muddled through a language that I just barely understand, suffered invasions of mold and ladybugs, and taught English to some rather overworked Chinese university students AND YET, I still manage to update the LJ every few days in smoky internet cafes. What's your excuse, yo?

Well, my excuse is that I'm grossly incompetent; what're you going to say to that?

Oddly enough, I was just composing a comment to you in another window, but now that you're here, I might as well just kill two birds with one stone and blather on about how if you're an XL I most certainly must be an XXXL, and how I will probably wear your dress to the World Fantasy banquet and think fondly of you, and how I miss you a whole lot and constantly bemoan the fact that I am such an awful correspondant and how it's probably better in the long run that I have nothing very interesting to say, or else I'd have even less time to say it, isn't it?

wow. I come over here because we have a whole heck of a bunch of mutual flisters, and read this? "Just in case anyone on my flist reads Locus and was curious about that thing in the "People and Publishing" section of the October issue: no, I haven't moved to Roc; yes, the rest of it is (mostly) true. I'll elucidate for the rest of you... um, soon."

ack! ^_^ I thought I'd wave and say hi, because I do that when I friend folks, anyways (I think it's reassuring). but for Kate the Clueless, could you do a quick sum up of where you fit into the categories "people and publishing", "haven't moved to Roc" (from where?), and "book world" ? It might be asking a lot, though, so feel free to ignore me; I'm hopelessly curious. *grin*

I'm an editor at Tor Books. Which I believe answers all of those questions at once, right? :)
