There doesn't seem to be much difference between the two these days. Methodists baptize babies and adults, while Baptists only baptize those who can and do openly accept god.
Historically though Baptists came from a puritan movement in England in 17th century, while Methodists arose from a revival movement in 18th century.
I was mostly interested in the fact that on a website for a Methodist church someone recommended to me, they talked about Lent. I didn't know that Methodists observed it.
The Wikipedia on Methodists makes them out to be a lot like Anglicans, complete with observance of many traditions. They only seem to differ on a few ideological points.
Ah, see, I don't know the difference between Anglicans and all that either. I was raised Southern Baptist, and therefore believed for a long time that all other religions were wrong. So now I'm trying out different religions.
