Miss Sumac gives me an enigmatic glance that I try to interpret.

I'm going to the Saudi Student Association cultural night in my gym clothes. I hope they don't mind. I'm sure Amjad won't.

Bah. I have too much to do all in one night!

We have enough Saudi students to form an association on campus? I know in total, we have a lot from the Middle East region, but to have so many from one country is surprising. Then again, we have a pretty diverse international student body, so maybe it shouldn't be.

Yep, I think our top countries run something like China, India, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and somewhere else, maybe the UK. I dunno if you know, but I work for International Student Services at USC, so I'm supposed to be well versed in those things. To be honest I think the Saudi students are my favorite of the different cultural/ethnic groups, but for reasons I can't publicly say, as it might come across as...rude.

And to respond to your other comments (since it's getting difficult to keep track of them all), it's funny that you were supposed to be a forest ranger, because that interest test said I ought to be a farmer. Maybe those tests are all biased towards environmental careers.

A fellow Sumterite, huh? That's where I grew up! Do you want to remain "J" or do you want to introduce yourself? ;) I don't care either way, although...I am extremely nosy.

Chinese and Indian students don't really surprise me too much honestly. I've been in the Math and Science departments a few times and the vast majority of the graduate students they take on are from those two countries. It seems the US turns out fewer scientists and mathematicians these days. We have no shortage of people going the Business degree-route though. As far as the favorite thing goes, I can probably hazard a few guesses as to what you might be referring to ( ... )

There are a lot of Koreans in social work because we have a program where they complete most of their program in Korea and then do their final year at USC or something like that. The rest tend to be all across the board, but with more emphasis on business. The Saudis typically study some kind of engineering, but again, business is popular too.

On second thought, remaining a mystery is fine by me. :)
