I've been trying to write a State of the Union essay for Ricochet for a while now, but I just can't seem to get the words to flow properly. Kara's fun! She's great to chat with, she brings an interesting perspective on the things they talk about, and she's got a sense of humor and doesn't seem to mind him frequently being a smartass--which, for someone who goes out of his way to be a smartass, is a definite plus. She has a slight sense of naivete that reminds him a little of his Excelsior teammate Julie Power (pictured in the above icon)--but since that seems to come more from her being unfamiliar with Earth than her being truly naive, it's not something he'd ever think to be condescending about. And at the same time, he likes that she's pretty mellow about the whole superhero thing--there's no real drama with her whenever it comes up; they're just talking shop.

And yes--she's also pretty hot, which is another definite plus in his book.

Well, in case it wasn't obvious--Rico is absolutely furious on Vanya's behalf. For someone to deal with a little girl like Vanya, who's really only ever seemed to want two things in life, and tell her that she has to choose between one or the other--or worse, really, to tell her that her getting one is conditional upon her rejecting the other, well ( ... )
