[Nite Owl is on the prowl! As much as a grown man in a heavy duty suit can prowl on roof tops in the night. Archie is staying in for the evening. This is as much of a way to make the rounds as well as get exercise. He's not able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, true. He has his ways.

Lucky night? Maybe. No army of big, shiny robots. No ( Read more... )

[ Depending on whether Dan's eyesight is as keen as his moniker, he might spy the outline of a body standing on the edge of a rooftop about two buildings down. And if the small form's not apparent, then he could at least spy the glint of smooth metal behind her back, reflecting off the face of the moon. ]

[Those goggles have a high functioning purpose besides keeping him optimistic and seeing in the dark. What the hell? Proceed with caution is the only clear idea.]

[ She steps backwards- or more like leaps backward onto the roof. A few running steps forward takes her to the edge, where she launches off to the next roof, another series of hasty steps, then enough leap onto the rooftop now shared by Hit-Girl and Night Owl.

Mindy doesn't even realize he's there until she crosses the first roof, while her second crossing ends in a defensive position, gloved hand close enough to make a quick grab for the double-ended spear strapped to her back. One must be careful of shadowed strangers.

In this convenient patch of bright moonshine where she stands, the smear of red on her blade is unmistakable. ]

[Size rarely matters when you know how to use the weapon you're wielding. Years ago, before he made a name for himself, Rorschach was anything but menacing for his stature. Truth be told, there was a time that Dan himself thought he had his work cut out for him. Cut being the operative word. It wasn't long until his height was forgotten entirely.]

Busy night.

[Bloodshed, she's too...vigilante looking to be a killer in the night. It's the cape and mask that do it. And utility belt. Cops and soldiers have those, thieves have concealed pockets or cases.]

[Later on, perhaps- he is not alone again. No, no, not with a Contractor in the darkness. She hadn't intended specifically to follow him- but. When an opportunity presents, one takes advantage.

And she did, falling in to silent step some thirty paces behind, dark suit and dark hair and darker eyes trained on his every move. Tracking.]

[Awareness decreases when you're paying attention to so many things at once. Those thirty steps behind are enough to keep that feeling of being watched a far fetched thought.]

[ For one reason or five others, the star has climbed her way up the building's stairs to the rooftop, maybe because this is as close as she can get to the sky. Maybe something less poetic and dramatic too. Suffice to say she works hard not to think about it but to ignore the catch at the corner of her eye is impossible, so she doesn't, glancing that direction and letting her eyes narrow. To whoever it is on the other roof, she must appear mostly as a mild glow of a person, but to her the other is only a shadow incongruous with the rest of the nighttime hour.

Something about him is familiar however. Hmm. ]

[Oh! A familiar face. Dan smiles to himself, hoping that it isn't too obvious. Yvaine hasn't encountered his alter-ego. Something tells him that costumed adventurers aren't the norm or even a thought in her world.

....is she glowing?]

[A mild glow, but a glow nonetheless, emphasized by the late hour's darkness no doubt. She continues to stare in his direction, waiting for him to move toward or away from her, or neither, but still a rooftop apart.]

[Curiosity begs that he at least take a look. Jon was the only other person he knew that glowed. Maybe Yvaine had at least that kind of a power in her. She had too much of a personality to be so disenchanted with other people's company. Nite Owl approaches, slowly with caution. This could be a trap. A very weird trap.]
