Securing some money took some time. Plus, it took some doing. Little things, like not having a proper bank account anywhere, or anything resembling identification. Minor difficulties, really. Having a soul didn't mean that Spike still couldn't steal, it just meant that he'd feel more guilty about it later

"Oh, it's just you," he said, shaking his head. "You have any idea how stupid it is to..." He stopped himself before completing his scolding of her for sneaking up on him. What else did Slayers do? It's like martial arts masters and trying to catch a fly in chopsticks. Just something that they did.
His hand slid beneath his coat, tucking the stake into the small of his back, down the back of his jeans, his lips curling into a grin.
"Got it all set, Slayer," he said, shrugging. "Wanna ride on the bike, or you got wheels?"

Instead a dry smug smirk took complete hold of her face as she calmly withdrew a set of keys from her pocket and pushed a button unlocking the shiny new BMW parked nearby and drawing Spike's attention to it.
"I got wheels."
Her eyes danced wickedly as she shot Spike another look before practically bounding over to the car that Harry had bought her. Sliding into the leather seat on the driver's side she waited until Spike got in to before turning towards him.
"So...where exactly are we goin'?"

He slid into the car, collecting his coat around himself, reaching into his pocket for his packet of cigarettes.
"There's a couple of places. But you seem more like the smoky-room type, and less like the girls in cocktail dresses and Oscar night gowns type. I was thinking the kind of place we might find a good row in, after we've had our fill of all else."
