Charlie had been home long enough to get a hug from Molly, two plates of food, and a hurried greeting from his younger siblings. Seeing that Molly was about to start telling off Fred and George again, Charlie snuck out the back door and made his way to Diagon Alley. He'd be back later, in time to see Arthur. Her hair was its usual bubblegum pink, and she was trying out blue eyes today instead of hazel, but it was unmistakably Tonks standing at the counter of the Magical Menagerie, earnestly discussing doxy removal with the witch there.

She turned a little when the door opened, and her face lit up when she spotted who it was. "Charlie! Charlie Weasley! Fancy seeing you here!" She immediately enfolded him in a big hug.

His attention distracted from the magical creatures, Charlie returned the hug, bracing himself because it's Tonks, and half the time she ends up on the floor when she doesn't intend to. "Yeah, I hadn't really planned to come, but I got some time off from work and decided that since I hadn't seen anybody in a while, I'd stop by. I've only been back for a couple of hours. Fred and George did who-knows-what and Mum was gearing up to give them a scolding, so I figured I could come back later."

"That might be a good idea. Your mother's wrath is something best experienced at a distance as much as possible."

She gave him a mischievous smile. "So, are you going to drop everything and come home with me to catch up on all the news? You know I won't be happy unless you do."

"Which is why I'm glad it's been a very long time since I was on the recieving end of it."

He made a show of looking at his empty hands and arms. "I haven't got anything to drop. Let's go!"
