Thank you so much for the advice. I really will try it. I don't have any money in my back account and no job yet, so I'll have to wait on buying the new book, but I have a trillion I haven't read yet...maybe it's time to begin unpacking. : ) Thanks again for reading and I really appreciate the comment! *hugs to you hilzy*
I found it extremely hard to get back into it, but I started off with a few really easy reads. Once you get a few easy ones out of the way and you realize you can get through a normal NON-NURSING book again, it makes reading more appealing and less...like a chore?
You KNOW I adore you! Thank you for the advice and as always, for taking the time to comment. I always enjoy your thoughts. I will look around here and find a little easy book. I've been haunted by "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee". It was one of the only books I didn't pack up. But I'm just not ready to make that emotional commitment. Ya know? That one is gonna take a lot out of me. Maybe I'll ask OHIOFLINT if he wants to read it with me. I could do it then. Hope you are well, darlin! ~Maura
Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee...sounds pretty interesting from the title alone. What is it about? Seems like it is somewhat of an emotionally heavy book. I'm right with you on that one though...I have a small pile of books off to the side that I know I have to wait until the right moment before starting to read them.
Oh, and you know I love reading YOU. Your energy is contagious and you're always such a pleasure.
I'm getting caught up on our little conversations all over the place. Everyone else is going to be soo jealous you know. Wounded Knee was a Native American Reservation. And a massacre took place there, and it's just called Wounded Knee. I think the white army just wiped them all out, so I don't think there was even a Res there after that. But I'm not sure about the whole story. But the book is a classic; and certainly for anyone interested in N. Am cultures. There was also a movie that came out a year ago. But I was in school and really couldn't devote the emotional energy to it. I get very very upset about that stuff. Even though I have no tribal blood, I feel very connected the their old ways. I have great respect. My husband was full blooded, actually. Well...he still is, but he's no longer my husband- that was supposed to be kinda funny. Anyway. Thanks for the book advice. I'm going to start Eat, Pray, Love. Feel free to weigh in on the book- that goes for anybody. ~M
