Could it be an update? (just a little one)

Hi out there. Long time no type. I've been fine. Just not very interested in being online much lately. I've been neglecting all my usual haunts. I don't know why, I just go through phases. Perhaps an astrologist could tell me why. Maybe Mercury is in retrograde, or possibly Uranus is passing Venus. I'm totally talking out of my ass about ( Read more... )

Yes, it was a bittersweet night. Everyone there was united by a love of history and beauty, a concern for more than just the needs of the moment, a long view. I related to the crowd for once; I felt our interests were shared. I felt I belonged there.

How wonderful that you were able to share in this, even though it was a sad moment.

On another note, I can relate to the not writing much lately. I have had very, very little to say myself.

Argh...they want to get rid of The Derby? I went swing dancing there...that would be sad.

Did you?

I'm sorry I missed you while you were here. I kept meaning to call you to see if we could meet up but I ended up having a really busy week. Something kept comingup everyday and before I knew it, you were already gone! :(

I hope you had a good trip at least.

Oh I didn't go to the Derby this time around...but some years ago I went dancing there and had a great time. I figured you were busy. Plus LA is so spread out. I missed seeing a few other friends because we couldn't get our schedules to line up. Ah well. Still was a lot of fun :)

I'm sorry to destroy one of your assumptions, but Uranus can not pass Venus, their orbit are too different - after all Venus is moving much closer to the sun then our Earth (about 0.6 times the distance), while Uranus is moving far away from the Earth (guess, it's about 16 times the distance of our Earth) ...
