So I'm following jboyn's meme. This is a list of the 150 top selling childrens books and I've bolded the ones I've read. A few things: I teach elementary school, I loved to read as a child, and I still love children's literature more than any other. In other words, lots of bolding! Between the two of us, we have about 95% of the list covered! I had to read some of the chapter books you missed when I was a manager in an educational toy store, then the children's dept manager at Barnes & Noble. On top of that, I collect young adult books. I have always been attracted to the "survival" type story that included: "Incredible Journey", "The Cay", "The Hatchet", and "The Giver". Additionally, I think I've read all of the L'Engle books for young adults.

How can there be no Dr. Seuss books in the top selling 150??

It's interesting to me how many of these I didn't read until I was officially a grown-up.
