So many things to love about this, where to start. Ok, I love that Madbum is making fun of Buster for his speech, because it was so, so mockable-- he sounded exactly like he was giving a high school graduation speech, which was adorably earnest. I like that he's such a morning person and has crazy plans for the first day off. And I love the crazy plans, like let's go do everything today, and then maybe win another championship in our second year, who's gonna tell me no?
How long have you been waiting to use that 'paint the corners' line, though, I must know.

I love Buster's energy here. It flows right from the continuity established in "Someone Like You Around," where Madison is unsure about spatial orientation in the Bay Area, and Buster has a better grasp on the geography of the area. I like to play with that dynamic.
Haha! I originally used it over on MCC as a joke line, something very cliche that a catcher would say to a pitcher as a double entendre. It was a while back, during the early playoffs.

I'll post my story soon once I'm done tweaking it. Then after that, I think I'll explore another pairing in the offseason, because who knows what next year will bring. (Other than more Posey/Madbum for sure.)

The dynamic was pretty accidental, but I realize now it fits them pretty well. Buster's a very level-headed guy, so it would make sense that he looks at the world through a very rational lens. Bumgarner's still trying to figure out that part of himself, and I guess the best way to put it is, he knows his role on the team much better than he knows his role in life.
