I'm so glad you liked it. There were times when finishing this story was the last thing on my list of priorities, but I'm glad I finally got off my duff and did it. It's wonderful to see it completed. And again, major credit to you.

The end! It's cute. Especially the part about Nate going off to teach geology. That should be everyone's secret dream, and I'd die of charm.

I liked giving Nate that ending. He'll be back in the spring; Stanford is just something to satisfy that curiosity of his until February. In the meantime, he's going to love taking his students out of the classroom and on-site to probe the mysteries of the Franciscan Formation.

Be still my heart! <3 I am sure they will also explore coastal uplift, marine terraces and transpression in the Santa Cruz mountains, a classic example if there ever was one. It's not that I'm a geologist in my other life, but...ok, I am. So when I see fictional characters display such charming interests, it fills my nerdy little soul. Don't ever leave us, fictional Nate!

You're kidding. When I was younger, my dream was to be a geologist. Though that's not the path my life has taken, I still love geology dearly. You just earned a million awesome points.
