Fourth Flutter [Video]

[Helping out that little thief has made FS wonder some things... She is at the Center, and looks at her Pokegear, actually on purpose addressing people.]

Um, excuse me, I'm sorry to bother you all, you can hang up if you'd like, but...

... I was wondering... Well, I mean, I could use some advice... How can you help to forgive someone? What can you do ( Read more... )

[He can't stand for too long without feeling faint but he keeps on his feet, his hand to the wall to maintain his balance.

Alois it had only been three years since he started to receive something close to positive attention and the care of another person, despite the other being inhuman. It took some getting used to, to search and hold onto affection that was never present. Having those strange women hover about him was of a different kind of affection. Having the young woman with the egg care for him was entirely different. He hadn't wanted that. He hadn't wanted her concern when he still had -- when he still hoped to have Claude's.

Her soft spoken ways reminded him far too much of another maid. At the very least, the young woman was no where near as creepy.

Alois wasn't sure what he wanted to say or do to such a girl. By now he was aware enough to realize he wasn't home and he was unknown. He pushed himself away from the wall and steadily walked closer to Fluttershy.]

[Once her message had been sent, she had taken a seat, waiting patiently for answers. She looks down at the two Pokeballs on her belt, wondering if she should check up on them. But before she can make a decision, she hears the footsteps and sees the shadow. she looks up... and, on instinct, jumps to her feet, taking a step backwards. The fear is instant.

But, as she looks hit him... he's much slower than the first time they met, and he still looks weak. Though she's still a little afraid, concern grows again, and she aimlessly holds a hand out towards him.]

You shouldn't be up, you should be resting in bed. You'll just overwork yourself... let's get you back inside your room. Did you need something? I can get it?

[Why did she care so much to begin with? He saw he she jumped back. It upset him. If he were strong enough to throw something he could, something to really make her fear him-- then he'd be able to understand.

But her refusal to back down and her insistence on coming forward -- that annoyed him just a little more. WHy approache when she was obviously so scared? Why hurt them both? At the mention of a bed, he could feel his knees grow weaker still. It would have been nice to rest again. He ignores her other questions in favor of asking his own.]

Why are you still here? ...You could have left! Why didn't you leave me?

[He was nearly yelling. The center had more than enough nurses to care for the invalid. It didn't make sense. He wanted to throw her to the ground, continue demanding answers, get her to speak up again. Anything but the concern. Even though he wanted that concern more than anything. Eventually he collects himself enough to make a single demand.] . . .Water. I want water.

[The yells make her flinch, but she doesn't move her feet. But her eyes soften at his need, and that's when she starts moving towards him, fingers gently touching his shoulders, trying to guide him to where she had been previously sitting.]

You wait right here, and I'll get you some water. Then when you've had enough, I'll help you get back into bed.

[She even strokes the top of his hair for a quick second, nearly motherly in a way. Cruel as he could be, this was still a child, an injured child... she just couldn't leave him be. It was simply impossible.]

[She wasn't making any sense to him. None at all. He felt his eyes water as he sank into the seat and kept his face turned away from her.
Her gentle touches tore at his heart. Her hand on his head, much as he was willing to snap at her for it, was a comfort he had forgotten about.

Alois turned to face her, his thin brows furrowed in confusion. He grabbed the end of her skirt and held on.]

...No. No! Don't leave! Don't leave me alone! [Waking up in that room alone was terrifying in one way. Waking up and realizing Claude was not coming was worse. He held on tightly and tried to tug her towards him.]

[She's startled by the sudden grab and his pleas. He, who had been so smug and cruel to her, who had mocked her and stolen from her, now was clawing at her clothes and begging her to stay? It was like he was two different people. But she doesn't push him away. Instead, she puts a hand back on his shoulder.]

I won't, I promise. Here, lean on me, and we'll go get water together. Okay? Use me for support, and I won't be going anywhere without you.

[With that settled, she puts an arm around his shoulders, encouraging him to get up, and use her as a crutch.]

[He needed her. She was the only one to have been so kind to him -- in all the worst ways possible and yet... She promised. Promises were feeble but when she moved to carry out her word, he felt himself wanting to believe her more. Just for the moment. Just until he was well again.

[He holds on and leans against her. It was a childish move, he knew, a ploy to feel just a little more of her comfort. Maybe even to believe for a second in good intentions and all the fairy tales he could never let go of.]

[She offers him a smile, meant for extra support, to try and prove her words. She keeps her arm around him, not tight, but with enough of a grip to keep him close. It's a little difficult to walk with the extra weight, but she manages, eyes forward. Her walking is still pony-like in some ways... flat, firm steps, and her free arm instinctively moving forward like a step in of itself. But they manage to make it to one of the water coolers, and she pours him a tall plastic cup of water.]

Here we go, nice and cold. Drink it all up, your throat is probably sore from everything that's happened. Have all you want, there's still plenty here.

[Why, she's even holding the cup up to his mouth, offering to pour it in his mouth if he can't do it himself.]

...What exactly has happened.

[It's not a question, and his throat is still sore. But he knows he is more than well enough to drink on his own. Alois takes the cup from her, his hands steady and he brings it to his lips.

It was as refreshing as she promised. After he's had as much as he was willing to drink, he takes a good look at Fluttershy. She wasn't so weak, as he thought. She was still a bother, with her soft spoken words and her devotion to ladybug. And yet she still cared enough to help him, the one who stole her things and laughed in her face when she was down. She still hadn't answered his question, and he was beginning to doubt he would ever receive one.]

[At the question, her head tilts. What does he mean? How did he get sick? Or something else? She patiently waits for him to go on, so when he doesn't, she decides to move on, as she doesn't want him to strain his throat by talking too much.]

All done? Let's get back to bed. You need plenty of rest before you can talk and walk normally again... But it won't be too long.

[With that, she begins to move once more, trying to lead him back to the bedroom.]

You haven't a clue, do you. [He would have laughed, had he the energy. Instead Alois seems to wilt and allows her to lead him back to the room. He almost wishes that she hadn't helped him, even as he tries to hold onto her.]

You'll not leave me, right? [He had not meant to sound so weak, so desperate. Yet... she had been everything he had been denied all of his life. A single instance of assistance was enough of an impression for him. He was tired of sleeping, tired of having no one to turn to. Claude was in this world, he was sure, but the other demon hadn't recognized him at all. Yet there was a small bright spot he could think of.] ...Ladybird. Where is she?
