River made her way through the ship and into the dining area. Most of the crew was sitting, enjoying the time off in-between jobs. She sat in the seat next to Jayne and watched as he cleaned his guns.
"I don't require that much additional lubrication." Silence. River was unfazed. She didn't seem to notice that everyone in the room was looking at her. Jayne had just stopped what he was doing all together. His mouth hung open and a small sound came out - but there wasn't really a word to describe what that sound was.
"Hey, has anybody seen the... What the hell are you guys doing?" Mal had walked into the dining are to find everyone frozen. After a couple of seconds all but River and Jayne got up and went to leave the room. "Where's everyone going?" Mal asked
"Trust me, sir. You don't want to be here." Zoe said as she led him out.
"I do!" Kaylee said after they were out of the room. She took position behind a wall and made an occasional peek into the dining area. Simon was right behind her.
In the dining area Jayne closed his mouth and swallowed. This was not the way he imagined his day going when he got out of his bunk this morning. For once, Jayne was speechless.
"I'm also very flexible. I'm told that this is an advantage." River continued, as if this conversation were perfectly normal. As if she hadn't just cleared the room.
"Gorramit girl, what the hell are you doing?" Jayne asked, finally finding his voice, though he kept the volume down. River looked confused.
"Kaylee taught me. About sex!" In the hallway outside Simon's eyes bore into the back of Kaylee's head. She turned around to meet his face.
"I didn't teach her, like show her or anything. She jus' asked questions an' I answered them. She's growin' up, gotta expect her to feel stuff. She's not jus' your little sister - she's a woman too - and women like sex." Kaylee said
"River does not like sex!"
Kaylee laughed and went back to listening.
"...and I know about different positions. I'm willing to..." She thought for a moment, "Give you head!" She said excitedly. Jayne's eyes widened. "I want you to take me. Like the captain wants Inara!"
"The hell?" Mal's voice from the common area. "What did she just say?"
"Nothing." Kaylee said, just a little too quickly.
"Just what have you been filling that girl's head with little Kaylee?" Mal asked
"Believe me, ain't no one wants anything that complicated," Jayne said. Mal vented and went back to his seat in the common room.
"I don't want complicated. I just want sex." River said with a smile on her face.
"Girl, you better stop it," Jayne said as he twisted in his chair, "or you're going to get more of a lesson then you want."
"I think we should go to your bunk," River lowered her voice, "Mine's right next to Simon's and I think he'll be mad."
"Damn right he'd be mad!" Jayne said bring his voice up for the first time. "An' I don't want to deal with him, which is one of the reasons why this ain't happenin'." River got up and sat on Jayne's lap. "Girl, what the hell-" She ran her hand along the inside of her thighs, further and further up. Jayne twisted in his seat again.
"This isn't happening. I can't let this happen," Simon said.
"River can take care of herself, Simon,, and Jayne ain't gonna hurt her none," Kaylee said "Not more than she wants to be anyway." Simon made for the dining area but Mal held him back.
"So," Jayne said, "you think my bunk then?" River smiled.
