It was all so clear; the colors of life mixed and blended until only a blind man could tell them apart. Everything was the same, the same old torture of everyday life, that it was. These haunting dreams of colors resembled a past love; colors that brought pleasures and pain. Raenef was unable to walk--out of grief, and unable to hear the voices that caressed his face every morning and every night.

Raenef siezed to speak.

For fear...

...that if he dared to open his mouth, he would hear his voice again. The memories were meant to drift away, along with that dreaded beating heart of his. His pale body wreathed and tossed about in the bed, gentle hands caressing his skin carefully, a warm breath on his face. He couldn't open his eyes still! Could hear no voice still! But the ringing of his beloved. Fingers ripped at the bed sheets, mind circling over and over into the pool of colors--and suddenly he could hear the blood-curtling screams within him, beyond him.

Someone screaming for his beloved....

...his holy beloved...

Raenef opened his eyes quickly, like a flash of lightning struck his being. For a moment, he did not blink, it just felt so amazing that he could finally open his eyes. Slowly, the memories of yesterday's activities flowed through his head, and then the days before that, and the years before that. "So it was another dream..." He muttered, a bit relieved but still unsettled. It was such a weird dream, sort of like those sleeping conditions Eclipse had been nagging to him about for that past few months. It was true, Raenef wasn't sleeping well. Now five years older and two years more mature, Reanef had long come to the conclusion that if his dream wasn't about floating fruits and vegetation it was something to be taken seriously.

Blinking again, he'd suddenly forgotten the entire dream. Only the words "my beloved" rang through his mind. Odd.

The door cracked open. It was Eclipse with his usual armfull of books and scrolls. "Master Raenef, how are you feeling this morning?" He asked, generally concerned.

Raenef cast a weary eye at the books, "Good. I had another dream, though."

"Oh?" The dark-haired man seemed much more concerned now, much to Raenef's displeasure. He rested the books on the edge of the bed, "Do you remember it?"

"Um..." Raenef thought hard, he just hated when he couldn't remember thing... which was quite often, unfortunately. "Uh, not really... Hehe, sorry." He smiled sincerely.

Eclipse sighed, "Then don't mention it... In any case..." It was obvious he was trying to remain composed, but his face betrayed his feelings. His lips thinned and his eyebrow twitched; not necessarily bad news, Raenef noted. "A letter came in for you."

The blonde's eyes lit up. It wasn't often he kept in contact with everyone, so it was nice when people like Erutis and Chris dropped him a line every now and then. In fact, the last letter he'd gotten from either had been well over two years ago. His eyes widened further when he looked at the actual note; well what do ya know, it was from both of them. It began with an enlarged "Happy Birthday!!", which confused him because it wasn't his birthday. He couldn't help but giggle a little at the thought though. Reading on, the letter became much more formal... or at least as formal as those two could possibly get, anyway.

It stated in the letter (which was in Erutis's sloppy handwriting) that they had urgent things they wanted to discuss, and wanted to meet at the Holy Summit on xxx date.

Raenef scratched his head. "Wait, isn't that today? Hm, Eclipse? Where's Holy Summit?"

"A place I advise you not to go, Raenef..."

"Aw, come on Eclipse." Raenef pouted.

Eclipse was visibly drained, he couldn't say no to his cute master. He sighed. "I knew you would want to go... Transportation has already been arranged for this afternoon."

The young man smiled with amazing enthusiasm for so early in the morning, "Thanks! You're the best!"

'I know...' Eclipse thought gloomily. It seemed the more time passed on, the more Raenef got his way... It almost made him forget about those creepy dreams he'd been told about. How could Raenef still be so chipper after dreams like those!?

"Eclipse!" The sudden outburst snapped the demon from his thoughts, Raenef looked like he was about to cry. "I'm so hungry!"

Patience, Eclipse reminded himself, patience. The master was still young, afterall... But a smile overtook him. He really loved his master.

Later that afternoon, the two were ready. A circle on the floor made for a handy transportation device. Raenef and Eclipse gingerly stepped onto the circle, which then began to glow mysteriously.

They arrived almost immediately, though that's just what happens when you let Eclipse make the preparations...

Erutis was there, as promised, but her partner had yet to arrive. She seemed a little ticked off, too.. "Five years and he still hasn't changed! I knew we should have came together!" She growled.

Typical Chris, he'd probably transported himself elsewhere by mistake...

Raenef smiled in an attempt to calm the female swordsman. "I'm sure he's gonna be here soon Erutis. So what was it you wanted to talk about?"

"Oh, right..." At least that got her attention. She rested a hand on her hilt and shifted to her other leg, a new habit she developed since Krayon decided he'd be her personal "bodyguard" every weekend... "Actually, it was about these dreams..."

To be continued....
