Raenef felt the cool air brush his face, his cheeks hot and red from a stream of thoughts that he really shouldn't be thinking.
If there was one rule of nature, it was that you weren't supposed to fall in love with your mortal enemy. Or at least someone who claimed you were mortal enemies.
Night after night, it became more and more difficult not to think about him, and it only made things worse whenever Eclipse would give him those worried glances. The darker demon knew something was up, but even Raenef wasn't dumb enough to tell him his most private thoughts and intentions.
One of these days, Raenef decided, he would just let go of this, like a passing fancy. It wasn't like the fool could stay with him forever anyway.
They were of completely different worlds, and were just... too different.
But just thinking about him again, reminded Raenef that he could also be fun and exciting, not just stupid and loud-mouth... even though Eclipse still hadn't grown used to the... nuissance. He imagined their banter, their times of laughter, and even those nice cushy moments they sometimes had, however rare they were.
"Master Raenef, are you feeling alright?" Eclipse asked again, slowly and carefully calculating his master's every move.
Raenef nodded slowly, avoiding eye contact and lying horribly, "No! Yes! Nothing's wrong. Sorry... Haha..."
