Sephiroth’s Statement
Cloud found his morning strange when he awoke and his partner was not found to be training outside. Though he did find blood, he did not worry as their training could get rough at times. His blond hair fell in his pensive two-tone eyes as his senses buzzed in warning. Following his gut it took him into the chasms of ice that reside just outside Radiant Garden. Small splotches of red had him tensing, they were far to fresh to be from the battle with the heartless and nobodies. In fact the trail was taking him decidedly closer to where he had encounter Sephiroth before.
What had him immensely worried was the fact that Squall’s jacket was laying forgotten in front of him with a large slash in the back. Cloud picked it up and studied the mark, the slash was long and narrow with red lining the sides. He gripped the material tightly in his fingers, this was a blatant clue and he knew who had left it. "I refuse to just be a mere memory Cloud." A soft voice whispered in the empty air, and when Cloud glanced up he found nothing.
"You belong to me, light." It chided and Cloud clenched his teeth. Angrily he paced into the open area and glanced around, his anger was push back as worry surged forward. Squall was laying on his side, blood amassed around him. His russet locks were stained with sweat and blood, and his eyelids were close covering his bright blue eyes. Squall’s favorite and treasured weapon lay inches beyond his outstretched fingers which painted agony.
"Your toy was fun." The voice chuckled out as Cloud approached in a daze. There were deep gashes down the tan chest and shallow cuts upon the face. Cloud reached toward his partner with a silent urgency, and was rewarded with a moan of distress. Eyelids tightened before opening slowly, and another moan escaped Squall.
"Eh, Cloud?" It was soft, but recognizable. Cloud sighed in relief and searched his person for a curing potion.
"Drink." Cloud urged while placing the potion against the other’s lips. What he wasn’t expecting was for Squall to withdraw from the bottle.
"Poison." Squall muttered, Cloud growled slightly. Whomever had done this had made sure he couldn’t heal Squall normally. Looking around he tipped the potion into his own mouth before sitting Squall up.
"Drink." He said again, carefully around the liquid in his mouth. Gently he laid his own lips against Squall’s and forced the liquid through. Squall struggled for a second, but Cloud was the stronger of the two and the liquid made purchase. In a second he felt a gentle push on his shoulder and he immediately disengaged. "Better?" Cloud asked when he actually saw clear blue eyes.
"Yes." Squall answered, and Cloud helped him up, neither noticed the narrowed green eyes that watched them closely. Cloud got Squall back to the apartment they shared and laid the male youth down.
"Rest." Cloud instructed. Squall nodded, and slipped into an uneasy sleep. Cloud check the apartment and secured all the locks, then he summoned an old friend. "Shiva, do not let anyone that we do not know in here." He ordered and the ice queen summon nodded. Then he headed out to inform the others that there had been an attack on Squall.
Cloud returned not more the ten minutes later and was greeted with an icy expression. He nodded his thanks to the summon, and went to check on Squall. There was a new addition, a large red and orange flower was laying beside Squall’s head. Cloud snatched it up and glared at the flower. "Marigold." Cloud hissed as he stared at it. "Means cruelty, Sephiroth’s favorite flower." He growled out and crushed the flower in his hand. Then walking to the door he tossed it into the wind. "Take your cruelty and go Sephiroth."Cloud jeered to the open wind. That flower had been the promise of many more visits.
