Identifying You
Hyuuga’s have a long history of being able to read a person and their possibilities. There are three though that magnify the negative and the positive of that statement. Hiashi Hyuuga didn’t have the foresight that the younger generation of Hyuuga’s did, and that cost him in the way of his elder daughter and nephew. Though he is trying to repair the damage that his hindsight had cost at the foresight of one who is not a Hyuuga.
Uzumaki Naruto had a hidden foresight, which was kept best behind his loud mask. When he first actually noted Hyuuga Hinata, he knew she would eventually go places, even if she was a little strange. Then when he saved her from her own nephew with the help of a few jounins, he knew that she would aspire past what her old man thought of her. Yet, he never told her that, only for her to do her best and to never give up. His foresight helped him against the Hyuuga prodigy by making the boy realize that not everything is controlled by fate. The only fate being that we all die, that was the only true thing that would never change.
Though for all his hidden foresight he did lack it when it came to those closest to him. This however, never applied to Hinata, as she had the best foresight of all. Hinata, was the first to recognize the will of fire within Naruto, and she silently praised everything he would come to do.
When they were in the academy, and many stated Naruto was just a failure and demon, Hinata knew different. She knew he would pass the academy exam to go on to be a great genin. When the kunoichi was brought to their last flower class, the sensei passed out flowers that she thought matched the person it was given too. The female sensei had admitted to feeling confused on which flower she should presented to Hinata when she was hit with a last minute inspiration.
She handed over a tiny flower, not much bigger than a small butterfly. It looked white, but hidden in the white was just a brush of light pink on the petals. There were four petals to match the four long stems that dispersed pollen. When Hinata asked what it was, for it was a cute flower and she wished to press some in her memory book, she was surprised what the sensei had said.
"It’s a holly, the flower of foresight, it seemed to speak of you." The sensei remarked and then walked off.
From then on, Hinata always pressed a holly whenever it came to Naruto and her thoughts on him. For he did pass the academy test to become a ninja. When she heard whispers of Kakashi’s test, she knew Naruto would pass, even if everyone said he would fail and bring down the Uchiha. Hinata worried when Naruto bonded with his team, especially when he bonded with Sasuke, for she knew the Uchiha would break Naruto’s heart. When they returned from that failed retrieval mission, she saw the toll it had on Naruto.
Yes, Hinata’s memory book was slowly filling up with hollies, as her foresight on Naruto were spot on. It was just a small confidence booster to her, but there was one spot in her memory book that will be vacant of a holly for quite sometime. She feared it might forever be blank, because that was reserved for Naruto would confess deep feelings for her. Hinata reserved that space in hope and foresight that Naruto eventually would see her for someone he could live the rest of his life with.
