Rising Pallor
Aerith would be so disappointed in him, if she caught him in this midnight field at this specific moment. Though he couldn’t help it, his anger was growing with each passing second, Sephiroth had planned well. For a minute the old admiration of Sephiroth’s skills flood him before he shoved it away. Sephiroth could be skilled all he wants, he was still a bastard, and he owed him. Cloud ripped a frustrated hand through his blond locks and took a second to harshly breathe. His fatal dance with the silver-haired warrior should have been over years ago, but he still haunted him.
Now Sephiroth had move on to mark his companion, and this pissed him off to no end. Squall had suffered lately under Sephiroth’s presence, and Cloud hated that. Normally he didn’t need to stand guard, didn’t need to protect Squall. Hell, if he normally suggested the idea, Squall would gut him, partner or not. Another hand raked through his locks, his frustration had not diminish over the countless hours of training. No, he needed a focus, something to take it out on, and since the main target was out of reach he needed something.
Jerking downward, he splashed into the field of flowers with a spraying of petals. However, one flower did not move or flutter in his action, no the flower mocked him by standing tall. It was pretty as flowers go, whites, purples, and yellows splayed sporadically. Gracefully it folded out in two sets of tri-petals, and Cloud snatched a hand toward it.
Vindictively and viciously he tore petals away, crumbling and ripping them apart. A mere mockery of what he would do if he caught hold of Sephiroth. Easily the soft petals surrendered to his will, he could imagine it as flesh. Once that one fell beneath his benediction he turned to another of its kind. His mako infused eyes were dilated as he was just as voracious in causing this flower death and destruction. With every rip and tear, his frustration grew and retracted until he began to feel emotionally tired.
Foolishly, he fell to sleep, and just before his eyes closed the knowledge came unbidden. The group of flowers he just ripped asunder, were Ebony. Irony tinged his thoughts, how appropriate that the flower that had receive his anger meant darkness. Sephiroth was his darkness, and soon it would tear him asunder too, for even thinking about harming his precious person.
