Short Separation
Chrono glanced once more at his watch sighing as Rosette’s familiar hair bobbed in the distance. Her perchance for being late to things hadn’t changed at all since he has known her, unless of course it was something urgent. He chuckled as she drew closer drawing heavy breaths and waving urgently at the train porter. She’s lucky this train station belonged to the church or else she would have missed it.
“Ooo, I’m sorry I’m late!” Rosette cried as she pushed pass the last bit of people to where Chrono stood. “I did try one last time to convince the Head Superior to let you go Chrono.” She added while hunched over her knees and drawing breath. Chrono shook his head at her behavior and helped her to stand upright. Gently he leaned over and brushed some of her bangs from her face.
“It’s all right, just be safe okay?” Chrono offered while helping her place her luggage on the train.
“She’s being unfair though.” Rosette protested, but Chrono shushed her with a quick finger to the lips.
“Enough now, this is your chance to find Joshua.” Chrono reminded while guiding her to the train.
“All right, but don’t get into any trouble!” She mock scolded him. Chrono opted to keep his thoughts to himself as to point out she normally got the pair in trouble. “I’m going now.” Rosette stated and bowed at the waist to the man waiting for her to board. However, before she could get far she whirled and tackled Chrono into a hug.
“Stay safe Rosette.” Chrono whispered and let her go. She nodded only once and turned to go onto the train. “Remember I’m only a phone call away.” He reminded, and stared lightly at the pocket watch that hung between her breast. Rosette caught him and huffed while crossing her arms.
“You devil you!” She scolded tossing her blond locks in agitation.
“I can’t help it.” Chrono whined and waved as she bounced up the stairs. Before long her face was plastered against a window staring out at him. He kept waving until he could no longer see the train before dropping his false smile. “At least Aion doesn’t know where you are going.” He muttered with a tight expression.
It wasn’t long before he was behind the walls of the church and sitting in Rosette’s room. Chrono idly played with a picture of the three of them. Him, Rosette, and her brother Joshua, back when they where still innocent to the full horrors of his own. For once Chrono wished for something besides the return of Joshua and his powers so Rosette’s life wouldn’t be forfeit. He wished he had the power to turn back time....
