“Then where in Godric’s name are they?” Minerva fumed.
“There’s one…” Kingsley pointed at a small, bespectacled figure racing back to them. “Two… Three… Tonks…”
The metamorphagus reached them first. She flung herself directly at Lupin’s feet, gasping out, “Go save him.”
“What!?” Incredulous, Lupin nevertheless Summoned his cloak.
“Yes. Go!” Tonks ordered. Lupin kissed her and then Disapparated.
“’Him’?” Minerva asked.
“Snape,” Tonks said. “He’s still alive, and he’s ours.”
“I don’t understand any of this,” Harry moaned.
“All you need to know,” Tonks insisted, “is that Snape is ours.”
